The Beach Boys are disbanding (again!).

I swear Mike Lowe is such a bitch. And to make matters worse, there is no explanation behind this controversial decision at all.

See there fellow orgers, I knew there was a reason why Brian Wilson was better off as a solo artist after all.

Summer is over, which means that the days are getting shorter, the weather is chillier, and the relationships between members of the Beach Boys are pretty much falling apart.

The Beach Boys’ 50th anniversary reunion tour is wrapping up in London this week, though “The Beach Boys” will continue to tour throughout the fall. The twist? Mike Love, who controls the rights to the group’s name, is sending home cornerstone member Brian Wilson, along with fellow Boys Al Jardine and David Marks.

Love will be touring as the Beach Boys with Bruce Johnson and a back-up band that may or may not include Uncle Jesse.

“I’m disappointed and can’t understand why he doesn’t want to tour with Al, David and me,” Wilson told CNN. “We are out there having so much fun. After all, we are the real Beach Boys.”

The announcement came just after the group celebrated the opening of an exhibit dedicated to their five decade career at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.

Had to know this would happen since mike was in court a few years back, this group is a joke anyway and no one cares for the most part, to me they were a novelty act always.

Brian Wilson IS The Beach Boys sound. wink

Nonetheless, you're still right Timmy. Right after Brian stop writting for the band for a while, it was Dennis & Carl that pick up the slack on the writting & composing.

For Mike Love to break up the Beach Boys so he can tour as the Beach Boys is a ridiculously selfish and greedy act.

Maybe Brian (or the others) is impossible, but then go on tour as MIKE LOVE, you dork!

.......and you can thank Mike Lowe for that bullshit. disbelief Although Brian Wilson wasn't perfect as a human being, he was definitely a musical genius that wanted to experiment new sounds. Mike wanted the band to stick with the Beach-related music formula.

Isn't the name "Beach Boys" owned by the Wilson family and their estates?

I'm SO sorry for the people who bought the tickets thinking they would see Brian, Al, Mike, Bruce and David together, but this was basically an accident waiting to happen...

...because Mike Love is a PSYCHOPATH

now Brian can resume his solo career

and yeah, the Beach Boys basically died in 1983, and then again in 1998

fuck u Mike Love, FUCK YOU

Brian is a genius and Mike Love is kind of like....i dont know....just very cheesy, like a lounge singer at best, just very NOT-serious.

I dont even know with these guys when they were in court a few years ago it was like MIKE was the "head of the band" and the others were players, honestly to me do you really need Mike Love at any point in this bands career?

Brian Wilson, Dennis Wilson and Carl Wilson made them a historic band IMHO... if they had stuck with Mike Love's decision to remain bubblegum surfers, they wouldn't have been in the Hall of Fame (like Jan & Dean).

Yeah I remember his statement he made at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame when he chastised Diana Ross and, I think, Paul McCartney (or George Harrison) for not showing up for their inductions to the Hall and he just had this psychopathic look in his eyes...

exactly! lol and Mike didn't even wrote early classics like Surfer Girl, Surfin' USA, Fun Fun Fun, I Get Around, etc. those were basically Brian songs with Mike "contributing" a couple of rhymes, that's all

to this day the guy can't even play an instrument (other than some melodies with the sax), the guy's a parasite, he has never released a solo album (other than a bizarre 1981 dance/surf hybrid which was crafted basically by outside songwriters/producers) for obvious reasons...he ain't Mike Jagger, that's for sure

I'm not 100% sure whether it's true or not, but I've read several sources which said only one of the Beach Boys surfed, and it wasn't Mike or Brian. In that speech Mike recalls high school days going surfing with Brian. eek LOL!

Yeah sounds like a nutter!

What an idiot! lol

The most awesome story about him that I rememeber is how he had a restraining order against the drummer of his own band to prevent him from knocking off Love's cap and revealing his bald head. shake

Peace and love my ass!!

So basically, Mike Lowe is the Kanye West of his generation. Interesting.

maybe that's the reason! maybe someone knocked off his cap during this 50th Anniversary tour and then he fired everybody... lol confused confused confused confused confused

I remember other "awesome" stories...perhaps the most insulting one involved him bullying and yelling at the heavily depressed and medicated Dennis days before his accident/suicide...

what a nice human being...

A lot of us Brian fans were afraid that something would happen on this tour to severely bum him out. "He doesn't need those guys, especially that awful Mike Love! His stability os too precious! They shouldn't reunite."

Then when they do get together for a planned 50-date tour, and Mike says "OK, well, that was what we agreed to, now it's over", THAT'S what is bumming Brian out.

It's interesting that Love, who tours the county fair and casino circuit, is now worried about "devaluing" the brand by keeping the band together. But nevertheless - that is what this was always planned to be, a 50th anniversary tour.

I saw them at the Grammy Musem the night he made that announcement, and the group seemed in good spirits & talked about making another album. From a business standpoint he's probably right - they would make less if they went right back out for a second time around.

I think you'll see them again, as long as everyone remains alive. Could be that Mike wants them to offer him more dough. Who knows? They're a severely dysfunctional family.

But the music at that Grammy event was astounding. I hope they do get it back together.
