i remember a college buddy playing "love like blood" in his room all the time ... somehow i ended up with the single and still have it ... (16" dance track?) ...
i know nothing about this group . I thought as i looked at the video , that there was someone in this group that was somewhat famous ... but ... perhaps not ?
this buddy of mine actually introduced me to alot of newer groups at the time (simple minds, squeeze, talking heads ) . Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

I used to have the Night Time album a long time ago. I don't know why I got rid of it.
I should get the remastered edition some day.

Killing Joke are one of those bands who were highly influential but didn't sell a lot of records. Off the top of my head bands like Fear Factory,Godflesh,Prong, Love like Blood, Helmet, ORB, Faith No More, Treponem Pal, Amen, Ministry, Nirvana and Metallica have sited Killing Joke as an influence or have remade KJ songs.
As far as the more famous member(s) of the band. The lead singer Jaz Coleman is pretty popular. He's the Composer in Residence for the Prague Symphony Orchestra and hes worked with the London Symphony, the Cleveland Symphony and the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra. He's also directed and produced Orchestra interpretations of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Doors albums that sold really well and won some awards. The thing about Jaz is the guy has a genius level IQ(over 180) but hes also kinda insane and sometimes has problems with drink and drugs.
Both bass players in KJ are(were) popular. The original and current one(Youth) is in a band with Paul McCartney(the Fireman) and he produces and remixes a lot of dub and techno records. He also co produced the verve album Urban Hymns.
The bassist in the Love Like Blood video was Raven. In between his KJ gigs he played bass with Ministry, Pigface and Prong. He died back in 2008.
The drummer(Big Paul) was also in the band Warrior Soul.
The guitarist(Geordie) has one of the most well known guitar sounds in post punk history. A lot of those early and mid to late 70's british punk/post punk bands had similar guitar tones and copied from each other but Geordie's sound is unmistakable. Also from my understanding he's good friends with Jimmy Page and Eddie Van Halen is quoted as liking Geordie's guitar tone. [Edited 9/27/12 14:17pm] Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.
