The entire cast of New Edition, Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ralph Tresvant and Cedric the Entertainer attended a private event to announce the 2012 Soul Train Awards. In honor of their success and musical impact, New Edition will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Best R&B/Soul Male Artist nominee Trey Songz attended the event along with his manager Kevin Liles. BET executives Debra Lee and Paxton Baker greeted the artists and played host at the event.

R. Kelly is nominated for two awards this year (the Ashford & Simpson songwriter’s award and Album of the Year), which totals 21 Soul Train nominations for Kelly, making him the most nominated act ever for the show. Usher leads this year’s noms with a total of five.

The Soul Train Awards ceremony will be held at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas and taped on Nov. 8. The show will air Nov. 25 simultaneously both BET and Centric.

About Damn Time !!! New Edition never get any love which puzzles me. New Edition is the only 80's group still going strong plus their side projects were all Top Ten pop-tart charts. Bobby Brown B.B.D

Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill, who put the Grown in NE in my opinion are still doing it.

It will be 30yrs in 2013 since NE hit the scene with Candy Girl 1983. Congrats 2 NE 4 their accomplishments. Just saw them in June 2012 it was a great concert. N.E.4LIFE.
