Trina Braxton "Party Or Go Home"

For those of you who don't watch "Braxton Family Values" you might not know that some of Toni's other sisters are trying to put their own solo music out there. Tamar Braxton has an album coming up, but Trina has released a single and video for the song "Party Or Go Home". Viewers of the show have seen the making of the video.

Thoughts on the song and video? I think it's catchy.

I like the cameos by Traci and Towanda in the video lol I'm curious if the song charts on the dance/club charts at all.

I like all the voices of the Braxton sisters-all of them have their own sound. If anyone is curious, you can also hear Trina singing the verse portions in the 1997 Braxton remake of Diana Ross' song "The Boss". Tamar does the chorus and Towanda is mostly in the background until the end.

Another computerized shit. What's the difference between this and the latest Xtina song? Why does everyone keep on releasing these types of songs?

Because party songs sell and obviously she wants to make money.

I don't listen to this kind of music (I'd much rather turn on a bit of Esperanza Spalding and Gretchen Parlato), but I do recognize the "business" part of the term "music business", and when one wants to be a popular mainstream artist, they do the kind of music of the moment that's necessary to achieve that.

Rather than knock her hustling music that's not my taste, I just look at it objectively for the demographic it's intended for, judge it on those merits alone, and listen to what I like and what suits me in the meantime. shrug

I think the real crime here is that this silliness isn't even age appropriate lol

I know Trina is milking her public persona as the super-fun, super-cute family drunk to the bone (I imagine the reason for this foray into the Broccoli Britney Spears-land of mindless pop is to capitalize on that "image", as it were)---but with her as a wife and mother of two teenaged children, one nearly grown, my closed-minded self has a hard time digesting the party-girl-in-the-club wearing the latex catsuit vibe...it's pretty nearsighted of me, but I almost want to say, "Girl, take off that latex suit and go sit somewhere and write a song I can listen to..." lol . Still, I know that'll never happen...the object these days is for people to drop something "hot" rather than focus on building long term careers and song catalogs that stand the test of time.

Well no it isn't. Damn what is she trying do in that get up? Channel Grace Jones? lol

I agree with Debbie of all the sisters (with the exception of Toni) she has a pretty decent voice. Look, I love Tech, House, and some club music but Trina should've been offered more sophisticated song than that. Angela Johnson recorded an album ( Revised, Edited & Flipped) this year: House/tech/ club/soul music, Ms. Johnson has been around the block. It's an excellent album for the same demographic Trina's trying to tap into. I've yet to see an older singer build a career let alone have a career on some contrived drivel, never. She looks likes she's tring too hard... a poser. That's a shame because I think she had a good enough voice to record better music than this.
