We had THE BEST variety shows when we were kids! the 70's rocked !
Imagine, there was a time when you could actually hear people singing music live on tv week after week as part of their career, along with skits, dance routines, etc. These days an "entertainer" manages to sing and dance at the same time and people think it's the second coming of the Messiah | |

There were also those athletic/sports competitions with singers/bands & actors back then like Circus Of The Stars and Rock & Roll Sports Classic.
