the stench of eminem we have a radio on where i work, i heard the latest offering from eminem yesterday, it sounds like someone in a lunatic assylum undergoing anger management therapy, if anybody out on the street was ranting like that they would be put in a straight jacket and locked up,i cant see how anyone can derive any pleasure from listening to rubbish like this, if this is what people class as entertainment then society needs to take a good look at itself.

Well, he's not on the street. He's in a studio. So, it's art.
I haven't heard the new song. I hate Eminem, but I'm not gonna lie he is a genius lyricist with vivid storytelling. I like a lot of his songs against my own will ... I don't want too... but the artistic impact pulls on my soul.
I really liked "Love the Way U LIe" with Rihanna. They really dramatized what it's like to be in dyfunctional love. It was perfect.... much like STan, Cleaning Out My Closet, etc.
His songs are not uplifting -- well, Lose Yourself was -- but art isn't always that way; sometimes it's ugly, dark and repulsive.
If only he were a more decent human being....but then I guess he couldn't take us on an artistic tour of the crazy side ...

The problem is that Eminem is an aquired taste for some, and that is okay.
I being a huge fan of his understand why people come off uneasy by his work. From talking about killing his wife, raising his daughter, throwing Lil Bow Wow in his basement, his best friends being murdered, shoving a rat inside his anus, Eminem is an artist and has a certain type of vision other rappers just don't, that is what sets his apart from the rest. I dont think on any of his albums he sat up there and ranted about cars clothes and money like the rest of these lame ass rappers. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

I'm adore Eminem and some of his stuff, even I can't take but it's still a lot better than hearing about his Maybachs. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Yeah, I've been wondering about the same thing. I don't understand why people want to listen to that on their radios. I understand that he was really big about 10 years ago and could do anything he wanted then. It's just weird that such, frankly speaking, unlistenable stuff still gets played in the radio. Daytime, even. What are most of the listeners supposed to get out of it?
I've listened to all kinds of aggressive vocalists along the years, but Eminem's "angry" vocals sound just silly and annoying. Who really wants to hear those 30-somethings sound like pissed off teenagers? It's the same thing with the "Nu-Metal" bands from the same era that are still around and I don't understand who really buys their records anymore.

I liked him when he first came out but in recent years, he just hasn't been of any interest to me. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

He has a new song out?
I don't really like his later stuff, but "Love The Way You Lie" is okay.

My son & friends sure liked some Slim Shady at one time... They can't stand him now... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

First 3 albums are as strong as Prince's best. Last 2 albums were OK; avoid Encore at all costs.

You should get a prescription for that.

co-sign. i love and admire the way he tries to be original with lyrics not with beats which is how most people approach it- even if it gets samey or hard to take in places. Prince #MUSICIANICONLEGEND

He's no worse than anyone else on the radio these days. Hell, he just fits right in with them because they're all a bunch of bullshit. Andy is a four letter word.

I agree with novabrkr. never cared for him at all..his voice is very grating to me, a couple of ppl I know like him but I find his music & style very repetitive, nothing sounds original. I can describe his music in 2 words annoying & boring, but that's just me.

whatever, at least he created "Stan", and "Not Afraid" had more balls than anything on the radio that year...
the guy's an asshole with a lot of flaws/issues, but at least he's honest about it, and he comes up with a new gem-single from time to time
and the Marshall Matters LP (2000) was the first rap album that I liked from start to finish since's '94's Illmatic (Nas), hell the MM Lp is the LAST rap album that I liked from start to finish purpose, good tunes, good lyrics, good melodies, no filler... only Jay Z's The Black Album came close, basically for the hard-hitting production (not the bland shit-hop of Kanye) [Edited 9/21/12 9:58am]
