Faith No More- Jizzlobber

Some of the best 90's art rock had to offer.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

I was obsessed with this album and especially this song when it came out. Jizzlobber and Midnight Cowboy was such a perfect way to finsih the album - it's like a soothing hug after being beaten over the head with a crow bar lol

I hated when they re-released Angel Dust and added Easy on the end.

I play it now and then and the whole album is still worship

Damn! i know confused that really made there next 2 albums good.. but not the greatness this album produced.

Although The Real Thing was great, i heard they where getting hailed as RHCP rip-offs. I adore both bands & they are both unique in different ways.....

But i think Angel Dust is the one that really showed FNM was there own band cool

Wow lol lol that is... an amazing way to describe he album actually! lol lol

I recall first hearing Be Aggresive... my aunt & her bf where a fan of the band. When i heard that song i was like... did these motherfuckers really just sing about swallowing lol And then after that there is this slow asian instrumental on a small victory neutral all soft & sweet i'm like wtf eek then it goes to that beatboxing like breakdown.. then crack hitler.

After those 3 tracks i'm like this has me sold lol been jamming this ever since cool

I do remember people saying that when Epic came out. Honestly, I think it had more to do with Mike Patton and Anthony Kiedis having the same hair than anything razz

Yeah it's genius how they managed to make something so cohesive yet all over the place at the same time.

From the wiki page for Angel Dust - I love how Be Aggressive is known as I Swallow biggrin

Recording process

For the recording of Angel Dust, Faith No More, were once again assisted by Matt Wallace, who had produced all the group's previous studio recordings. They entered Coast Recorders in January 1992, originally set to track a total of 17 songs; however after writing two more while in studio ("Malpractice" being one of them), a total of 19 were recorded. At this time, the final titles had not been chosen, and they were often referred with the following working titles, some of which continued to be used in their live set lists:

  • "Triplet" – "Caffeine"
  • "Madonna" – "Midlife Crisis"
  • "Macaroni and Cheese", "Country Western Song" – "RV"
  • "Arabic", "The Arabian Song" – "Smaller and Smaller"
  • "F Sharp" – "Kindergarten"
  • "I Swallow" – "Be Aggressive"
  • "Japanese" – "A Small Victory"
  • "Action Adventure" – "Crack Hitler"
  • "The Sample Song" – "The World Is Yours"
  • "The Carpenters Song" – "Everything's Ruined"
  • "The Funk Song" - "Land of Sunshine"
  • "The Shuffle Song"/"Seagull Song" – unreleased recording, final name believed to be "Virus"

I really don't hear The Carpenters in Everything's Ruined - I always thought it was an obvious 'hit' but they made the worst video in the history of videos for it. Still, it's a great song.

FNM. A great band and AD's a great album. Im a big Killing Joke fan so it doesn't hurt that FNM cite KJ as an early influence. In fact the guitar player for KJ(Geordie) auditioned for FNM when Jim Martin left.

One band i can't seem to really get into is Red Hot Chili Peppers. I try and try but a lot of their music sounds like weak funk/rap rock to my ears. I prefer Fishbone over RHCP's.

I do like the RHCP album Californication and a few of their other songs though.

I never knew there was a version without, that song wore thin for me.

This concert was an official cd and vid release, at least in the uk. It's friggin awesome.

Mike talks so much shit about Jim..... so many times. It's hilarious lol

And he did it a lot in interviews, i mean it's obvious some are jokes. but it's just funny when he kept bringing up how Jim lives with his mom. And this lady asked how would u say Jims guitar sounds this album?

Mike say's absent! Jim was gone and puffign away.. we thought about hiring a private detective to see what is happening on Jim's life. lol lol
