What is everyone's favorite Bowie era? Lookwise mine is the Young Americans era ( hot as fucking hell!!!!). Music wise...well pretty much all of his 70's but mainly YA.

So what does everyone else think? Lookwise and Music wise which bowie "era" is your favorite?

Love most of his music from 1970 through to 1980. The only dips for me are Pin Ups, Young Americans and Lodger.

I barely play any of his later work these days but his last three albums were ok. Buddha Of Suburbia was decent enough too.

My favorites are the 70s-early 80s (Ziggy, Young Americans, Scary Monsters, Lodger--and yes, I liked Let's Dance, too) and late-90s-early 2000s (Earthling, Outside,Heathen, Reality)

I also liked the 1st Tin Machine album, and am still trying to forget the duet w/ Mick Jagger

I got to see Bowie in 2004 on the Reality tour. He hasn't performed or released any new music since then.

The 'lets dance' era was his most polished.

Late-70s. I'd say from "Station to Station" to "Scary Monsters", although that's perhaps even three different eras. So, "Low" / "Heroes" if I'd have to pick a particular year (they came out on the same year, 1977). I love the mood and the arrangements of the music. Those records were absolutely brilliant.

I have to say I was quite fond of the late-90s / early-00s stuff too, because at least I was there when it was happening. Seeing him live, watching those tv-performances, buying those records on the first day they came out... he made great music back then and was just so damn charming in interviews.

Probably Hours..., not least because I still have that same look myself. I admit I was just aping him back then and that look stuck.

other than the 87-92 era (dreadful both visually and sonically), and the late-60s (boring songs or bizarrely produced), I dig the vast majority of the Bowie eras: glam, soul/funk, kraut, radio ready pop/rock, industrial/techno, neo-classical, you name it

I can't say which is my favorite, I love the sound and look of the Ziggy era, the Thin White Duke, the weirdo of Berlin, Pierrot, the maverick yuppie of Let's Dance, Jareth of Labyrinth (who clearly influenced the design of basically any Final Fantasy character), the 47-50 years old full of life of the Outside/Earthling era, the Heathen/Reality era, etc, damn why did he stop making music?

I like all his looks and music styles from the late 6o's all the way to the mid to late 80's. The Ziggy Stardust, Low, and Young Americans eras are probably my favorites.

Most of the 1970s and the 1980s, but barely anything else out of that. Sometimes it shocks me how uninterested I am in the 1990s and 2000s stuff compared to how I worship his older stuff...

I can't choose so I'll just play a fav Bowie tune instead...

The only album of his last 4 that I listened too (Reality) wasn't too bad. I liked some of the tracks but just couldn't get my self too keep listening to it (too addicted to his earlier music haha).
