This has a Janelle Monae feel to it which I love. The video has a Tightrope like feel to it. I like how he tells the story with him as a superman and carries that theme through the whole album. I just down loaded the album for free and it has at least six songs that I like. My favorite is Key to the city followed by Hello Earth.
I get excited when I hear artists come from different perspectives. | |

He's OK. Kinda average. Definitely not bad.
I am glad he writes, though, otherwise I would completely dismiss him as singers are a dime a dozen.
He just doesn't speak to me. Subjective. In this current climate, he should be able to make a splash. There are worse people out.
anybody know anything about this dude
Here's an interview from MOBO: http://mobo.com/news-blog...-interview
His influences: "Michael Jackson, Usher, Boyz II Men, Brandy, Mary J. Blige and Whitney Houston. Nowadays I'm influenced by so many different artists. I love absorbing new music and discovering different vibes. I'm a huge fan of Drake, Ed Sheeran, Adele, Jhene Aiko, Frank Ocean and Lianne La Havas right now. Influenced by their great song writing and melodies."
How he wrote his "Hello Earth" album: "Pretty organic. I recorded whatever came natural to me. That's generally how I write. I don't like to overthink lyrics and melodies. The whole album, aside from a couple of the featured verses, was recorded on my mac in my bedroom. I learned a lot about myself and I think I grew a bit vocally and writing wise during the recording process. I'm thankful to all the artists and producers who got involved."
