Gee, I watch the show for CeeLo and Christina. I hope they are just taking a break.

Usher will be a great choice. I love Shakira -- but only when she's singing. Not excited.

Good choices, They need to mix it up a little if they're doing 2 seasons a year. The Voice UK is great too with Jessie J, Tom Jones, Will.iam and that Script guy whose last name I can't spell.

I love me some Jessie J. I really wish she would tour in the US soon. Her voice is solid and I honestly wouldn't mind if she took Cee-Lo's or Christina's spots on the US Voice. Usher is a good choice though and I've never actually heard Shakira do much talking so she'll be interesting. I'll definitely miss my Christina and Cee-Lo though. The two of them will always be my faves. Love them bunches but excited about Christina's new album which is dropping on November 15th

I get why they chose Usher but Shakira?? Usher at least can sign and Shakira...well she has her own style and that's cool. But when I think of a great singer, Shakira definitely doesn't come to mind.

I watched The Voice last night for the first time, and it was a lot of fun. Sad to see X-tina leaving though. Last night, she really seemed to make the show fun, along with Blake, and Cee-Lo, and Adam. Come to think of it - I really like the show as is. Is every episode as fun as last night or does it get more American-Idol ish and dramatic as it goes along?

It was just refreshing for the judges to seem like they were having a good time, instead of the drama that always become A.I. every season.

I'm a big Christina fan so I've been watching 'The Voice' religiously since it's debut and it has been pretty consistent since Season 1 I feel...they have become a bit more competitive over time but still respect each other. The judges were a bit new to each other in the first season which was expected because as much as they fit together now, in the beginning it was a bit of an odd pairing. There's the rocker frontman with a falsetto to swoon over; an out-of-this-world soul singer with a crazy style all his own; a relatively unknown country star outside of the country music scene; and a Dirrty pop diva with a Disney past judging hopefuls in a singing competition....with their chairs turned around for the first several episodes. Wow, what a breath of fresh air in the ridiculousness that is talent competition shows.

I just think the concept of the show is truly what makes it worth checking out even if you aren't a fan of the reality talent show genre. Plus, to have a full panel of REAL artists judging is extremely refreshing to me and has kept me watching this series from day 1. I just can't watch AI or the X Factor because...really??? Outside of a few of the judges on these two shows, most of them couldn't sing their ways out of a wet paper bag with a guitar pic in their hands. If the judge can't stand up and deliver the song better than the singer who is auditioning than what the hell is the point in me watching? Uh, it's a SINGING competition...duh.

Personally, I don't care how many awards they've won; albums they've pawned off; tour dates they've sold out; records they've broken on Billboards little assinine charts; or how big their name is...if their vocal abilities aren't better than some unknown singers than I won't be tuning in to watch a hypocrite pass judgement on a real vocalist. I'm a picky TV watcher and don't follow many TV series of any genre but I will keep watching 'The Voice' even after Christina and Cee-Lo leave next season. All just my

It's usually really fun during the blind auditions but becomes more serious once the teams are chosen...still fun but more focused on the task at hand. There really isn't a whole lot of drama like American Idol but the coaches (because they really do more than just judge the singers in this show) do get protective and sometimes argumentative when one of their singers gets dogged by another coach. It's really nice seeing the 4 team captains mentor their hopefuls and develop relationships with them in the process that follows the blind auditions. The second stage of the show is also when they bring in other artists/vocalists to help coach their teams. Last year Christina had Jewel and Lionel Richie; Adam had Alanis Morrisette and Robin Thicke; Cee-Lo brought on Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds and Ne-Yo; and Blake had Kelly Clarkson and his wife, Miranda Lambert.

They do get defensive of their singers if anyone says something overly negative to them regarding their performances; but, in the same aspect, they aren't gonna give them a pass for a bad performance either and it's never unwarranted drama like on AI. I've watched each of these coaches give praise and criticism to their teams which is what a good teacher and mentor is really supposed to do. They have added a new element to this season which they keep hinting about so it must not come into later on...something about how they can steal singers from the other coach's teams or something like that. So far, they have some great talent on all the teams and it's gonna be a good season at this point.

After the blind auditions are done, they go into the 'weaning' process where the 4 coaches will pick two singers from their team to compete against each other. That's when they bring in the other mentors and they pick a song that the two teammates have to sing against each other. After the two singers have a sing off with the selected song, the other three coaches who are not the team leaders for the two competitors will pick the singer who they think performed the song the best and then their coach will make the final call on who will get to advance to the next level. It will usually be 2 teams per episode at this phase and then it starts the whole 'weaning process' as I call it...harsh but that's pretty much what it is.

America really doesn't get to do much picking until it's down to the final 8 I believe...each coach gets 16 hopefuls to start. Honestly, I'm glad viewers get to judge only the last 8 because by that point the better singers have been put in those spots by their coaches who know more about singing than most people who watch the show...sorry but some TV viewers have proven that they listen to music with their eyes more often than with their ears.

The show is a really good competition show all around and the blind auditions are really the icing on the cake. I think that's why I really like the show. It brings back the importance of really listening to a singer with the blind auditions. Before MTV, VH1, BET, and other music video channels, there was just the radio. Most people either liked what they heard or they didn't...Madonna's first single was released to R&B stations and nobody even knew she was white but the song did very well for her and MTV just help launch her into the stratosphere in the end. That seems to be what The Voice is ultimately trying to achieve. Finding singers who can really sing even if they aren't supermodel beautiful. The voice is all that really should matter in the end and I think that's awesome that they understand that with this show.

Thanks for in depth walk through of the show. I gave up on American Idol along time ago when I started feeling like that show cared way more about the singer's life circumstances then it should. Don't get me wrong, I feel bad and have empathy for someone, but I don't feel like American Idol is the place to do that.

They do a few backstories for some of the hopefuls but even the saddest life story doesn't mean that the judges are gonna overlook poor singing abilities. Last season, one of the contestants, Jesse Campbell, was a single father who's wife abadoned him and their daughter. The two of them were living out of the back of their car. He made it onto Christina's team and was an extremely good singer but didn't make it to the America voting phase which I do believe would have saved him and possibly given him the win. Christina voted him off her team. She didn't end his run because he wasn't a great vocalist. She ended his run because she said he didn't need her help...he already had the best vocal skills he could ever get and could get a deal without the help of a reality competition show. Don't know if he managed that but being on the show definitely put him out there so the rest is up to him. I think she would have won if she had kept him but she had her reasons for sending him off.
