I've heard that classic 'Summertime' (which is one of my most favorite classics) sung by so many people, and only a few can sing it so well, it gives you chills. He did a great version of this. Absolutely love it. Wish I knew of him long ago. Love his singing voice.

For me,Sundays are all about oldies lol I plan to play some Billy Stewart songs today..."Cross My Heart" is my favorite!!!

Cool! I hear you. I used to listen to a station over the weekends that played songs from the 60s/70s, but haven't done that for a while and was feeling a bit nostalgic, and was looking for another artist's song, but ran into this one on youtube. I have to say I'm glad I did. Somehow, and this mind seem like a strange comparison, but Billy's singing style reminds me of a male version of Nina Simone's style. Could be because of the era of music. Just my opinion of course. lol

Also, just to add, after hearing Billy's version of 'Sujmertime', it also reminds me Al Jarreau's sleek and classy scat style.

Stated that even James Brown didn't want him to be his opening act..
