Phil Collins Battle - "Take Me Home" VS "In The Air Tonight" Which of these classic Phil Collin songs should win in a battle?
"Take Me Home"
VS
"In The Air Tonight"
For me, I'd have to give the win to "In The Air Tonight" - while they are both beautiful songs, and very haunting, with a touch of sadness to both, I think that "In The Air Tonight" is just a bit more dark and interesting. Plus, I love when you hear those opening notes of the song. Haunting. Then again, maybe that scene in Risky Business is another reason why I like it more too.
What do you guys think? Which wins for you? MJ Fan 1992-Forever

This is hard... Take Me Home.... well it has the better instrumental & lyrics imo. But when the drums come in on In The Air it's just to epic!...
Ugh! In the air by a hair... Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Tough call but it's just something about Take Me Home that's special. It one of the best pop albums and it got aiplay on r&b stations in 1985. Definitely a favorite among college students then. Don't laugh at my funk

Damn... like the others have said, a tough decision but I'm going with "Take Me Home" as well. Both songs however have a build up I love about it. The anger in "In the Air" and then the optimism of "Take Me Home" and bad-ass drum beats on top of that. In this case, the chorus and Phil's "I DON'T MIIIIIND!" bridges won me over for Take Me Home. And also he brought Peter Gabriel on the background vocal parade with that one.

I was never all that crazy about "In The Air Tonight".

See and for me it's the exact opposite. Not crazy about "Take Me Home" but love "In the Air Tonight". I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

In the Air Tonight "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really donĀ“t like the idea that he could have it all."
