Superbowl 2013, who will perform at halftime?

Hey guys, any ideas or speculation about which act will perform at halftime of the SuperBowl this time around?

Trolls be gone!

I don't care who it is as long as they can sing (and I mean live) and are not all about theatrics. I'd like to hear someone that rocks it out for real.

I've heard rumours about Van Halen. I hope so. They have so many great, rockin songs to choose from. They would rock that place!!

It would be a miracle for Van Halen to play the SuperBowl halftime show -

they can't even play a show on their quickly aborted tour this year.

I would like to see Fleetwood Mac or Earth, Wind & Fire. Prolly won't see

them.

Um - wrong!

They may have aborted their tour, but I saw them perform twice this year and they were great! Both shows were over 2 hours and they did just fine.

Van Halen would be excellent. I'd record that and watch it later! It's kind of sad they have to go back so far to find credible acts for the Super Bowl now. They're running out of veteran acts to do it.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Earth Wind & Fire would be great thumbs up! Fleetwood Mac is another great choice.

Chicago,Hall and Oates,Journey,Pat Benatar and Kool & The Gang should be considered,as well.

Earth Wind & Fire is an excellent choice, as well as Van Halen and Kool & the Gang. It was a lot of fun seeing Van Halen and Kool & the Gang at the same show. A great two-for-one deal, to me! I would have bought tix to see either group by themselves. I wish other artists would consider combos like that. smile

Not really. Carlos Santana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Genesis, R.E.M., Sting, The Police are certainly viable acts to play the Halftime Show at the Super Bowl. Maybe the NFL are trying to reward veteran acts by booking them for a program with the biggest viewership on television: 100 million people. With the exception of the Black Eyed Peas, all of the acts have been Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame Inductees.

As long as no one dies before they get booked. It's pretty much a given that the halftime show is going to be a nostaglia act from here on in. The only wild card remaining is Gaga. She has the popular vote but not the established career span of the others.
