I know! After Aurra, he showed up playing with George Clinton off and on, from the mid 80's through the mid 90's...not sure what happened after that...but that's definitely his sound on Clinton's "Do Fries Go With That Shake", and "Hey Good Lookin'"...

Yeah..all that reversed bass on the GC stuff...never gets old. Also loved the Civil Attack project & even his solo joint (both from '83) was intriguing.

I seem to recall that he & Sheila split up (foggy on that one).....and he was the proprietor of some kind of "Funk Institute" in the mid 90's. It's all kinda mythical. As far as I know, he just vanished from the studio funk landscape after '86 pretty much. We should ask Dayton..he prolly knows what happened to him.

As I understand it, this track was simply Arrington's solo debut that he cut (with Steve Washington producing) for release as a two-track 12" on Salsoul in 1980.

Many years later, it begins being added to Aurra compilations (NO IDEA why, beyond the backing musicians in common).

I guess not too shocking, as they also tacked Arrington tracks onto Slave "best of" comps, too.

Ya know..? Pfft. That's exactly what their rationale seems like when they do that crap. As a harcore fan, I find it REALLY distasteful & disrespectful when they fail to maintain the integrity of artists' bodies of work like this. "Arrington? SURE..throw it on there..."
