No Doubt's New Album, Push and Shove (Thread II) [img:$uid]http://i48.tinypic.com/15eu4k.jpg[/img:$uid]
May 5, 2012
No Doubt have announced that they will release a new studio album this September.
They released a statement talking about the as-yet-untitled record, which will be the follow-up to their 2001 effort Rock Steady. "We are incredibly excited to share the new music with you. Ear candy coming your way!" they wrote, before later adding: "Thank you all so much for your support over the last 25 years. We're really proud of our new album and we hope you love it as much as we do. We'll be posting a lot of updates between now and September as we shoot the video and start rehearsing to perform the new songs live for all of you."
The band had originally intended to release the album before Christmas last year, but revealed they had pushed back its release date so they could "make sure it's the best album we can possibly make". Previously, meanwhile, Stefani described the band's songwriting approach on the album as "desperate".

"Settle Down" Teaser
No Doubt's video for their new single "Settle Down" won't be out until July 16, but the band has now provided a teaser clip that gives fans a hit of what to expect from the finished product. While the song itself isn't heard in the sneak peek, you do get to see the band in action.
In the clip, Gwen Stefani and the boys dance and perform on top of some very large 18-wheeler trucks, one of which has a sound system strapped on it; others are decorated with flashing lights. We see the band members hugging each other and some horn players, and Gwen -- sporting her signature tank top and baggy pants -- is also seen dancing inside what looks like the interior of one of the trucks.

Thanks for sharing! I like it! They sound great and Gwen looks hot as usual!
Although this song kinda reminds me of Nelly Furtado's new one for some reason...
OK...an UPDATE
I love this song! This is already on repeat and we will be a HIT!

It doesn't instantly capture my attention in the same way as most of their songs. But when t reaches the chorus, I find myself getting into it more. The outro is really good.

You know it! I love Gwen but seriously that's all she ever sings about.

No Doubt Returns with Reggae-infused ''Settle Down'' July 2012
It's been almost ten years since No Doubt's last single, but the band shows no signs of aging on its newest, dancehall-infused pop song, "Settle Down."
Unsurprisingly, Gwen Stefani's pitch-perfect howls are layered over horns and pulsating drum beats as "Settle Down" quickly finds a reggae groove and sticks with it for six minutes. The Spike Stent-produced track sounds fresh and progressive, without ever losing that trademark No Doubt snarl.
No Doubt's new album, Push and Shove, will be released on Sept. 25. It's the long-awaited follow-up to 2001's Rock Steady, which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 with 2.8 million copies sold to date according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The band has a slew of television performances lined up in the coming weeks, starting with the Teen Choice Awards on July 22, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on July 26 and Good Morning America on July 27.
They will also perform at the iHeartRadio festival in September.

Same here. I like the song, it's energetic and doesn't sound too far off from their familiar sound, yet it's new. I dig it. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

As a huge ND fan I was left a little dissapointed with settle down, the chorus gets me though but I have mixed feelings about the song - perhaps it needs to grow on me lol. I can't complain tho - I've been waiting for a new album for a long time. I'm sure the album will be great When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace -Jimi Hendrix

I'm digging it right now at the first listen. Upbeat, cool vibe and generally pretty badass!

Good one. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Would it have killed Gwen to smile a little? Otherwise she looks pretty killer
I LOVE how her voice is done, bass sounds great too. This song is dope.

Definitely feeling the new song -- can't wait for the album (and next year's tour!!).
So glad to have them back. The show I caught from the 2009 tour was one of my favorite gigs ever.

''Settle Down" debuted at No. 13 on the Digital Songs Charts with 87,000 downloads in its first week. Not bad considering the band has been on hiatus for a long, long time.

I don't mean to be annoying, but I really like the band and was expecting the new single as well, but, although I agree it sounds like their thing yet a new song, I'm not feeling this song AT ALL. It seems just weak. Hoping, though, for the album and the Diplo/Major Lazer songs. -Wtv u heard bout me is true,I change the rules n do what I wanna do.[Im n love w God,He's the only way - NOT!]We know we gotta die some day,so Im gon have fun evr MF night!Im gon 2 another life. How bout u?

That performance was fine and all... and I am no rock star, but to achieve that sound did they really need the drummer, two keyboard players, AND a Macbook? And Tony has the drum too? Wtf is the band even there for...
Methinks the Macbook is runnin' that show. I bet u can run that performance on Ableton and download a torrent of their old stuff from when they used instruments at the same time and it still wouldn't crash. Who is advising these folks? Soon fools are gonna be carting out desks and tray tables for their live show. [Edited 7/27/12 18:22pm]

The performance is fine and they sound great; not my favorite song though... Hope there's stronger material on the album... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I really like the new album cover - cool stuff!
However, that Lazer remix posted above is just awful!
The original song is awesome and I wish it was being played more on radio.... [Edited 8/10/12 11:34am] The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.
