I think her tone is unique, but do you think she will be looked as one of the greats say 10 or 20 years from now?

I think Brandy can sing but back in the 90's I was never overly impressed with her voice but I did like Brandy she had a more R&B bubblegum appeal and a lot of young girls in the 90's loved her. Brandy's appeal was more wholesome she was never really a flesh peddler and her music did have substance. There were other good female singers in the 90's that Brandy would never really stay in your mind if you wanted to hear good female singers.

There was Toni Braxton, Tamia, Mary J Blige, Shanice, Mariah Carey, Chante Moore, Kelly Price, who had better voices that you could not help but listen to.

Looking back now Brandy I would consider her to be a great but not the greatest.

Genuine R&B acts never had that much mainstream appeal. Often in order for R&B acts to crossover their music would be popish and Brandy had a combination of both.She was awesome back in day and is one of the best R&B acts music wise in the 90's. There were great female singers that came around back then but Brandy had the younger crowd and therfore a stronger push. Where she had a sucessful sitcom and did that movie with Whitney Houston.

Her archrivial was Monica who I believe had a more soulful voice and more mature material but after the Boy Is Mine album. Monica faded and her solo career was never the same after that.

She has a good voice but came out when there were too many older black R&B women blowing up and she got that "child" stamp on her. She has some great songs and some forgettable ones but she's still got it in her to go the distance.

I dig the unique quality of her voice.

On a scale of 1-10, I'd give her a solid 7. I've always been a fan of her voice & her music. I actually feel that she's underrated...but that's for obvious reasons....

On a scale of 1 to 10, she's a 4. She's a better actress than singer.

Love Brandy...very unique voice. Id give her a 8 with technical ability, vocals and emotional appeal.
