I finally heard Homogenic

I don't get what's so great about it actually boxed . I was expecting much more after hearing how many people told me to hear it. But... well I'll explain

1. Hunter 1/5 Sets everything up bad. Boring music, boring lyrics, boring vocals. My least favorite Bjork song I've heard so far.

2. Joga 5/5 One of the reasons why I bought the album. Absolutely LOVE this song

3. Unravel 2.5/5 A decent song. Not much. Gets boring after awhile

4. Bachelorette 4/5 Not nearly as good as Isobel. Not bad though

5. All Neon Like 2.5/5 Decent. It's too boring for a song as long as it is though

6. 5 Years 1/5 Hate it

7. Immature 5/5 I actually really like it. I don't know why though

8. Alarm Call 2/5 Meh

9. Pluto 2/5 Good production. Not much else. Her vocals annoy the hell out of me.

10. All Is Full Of Love (Album Version) 2.5/5 Don't know why this version was put instead of the music video/greatest hits version. That version is far surperior.

Overrall I think Post is a much a stronger CD. I'm still going to check out Vespertine, but if I don't like that one, then I'm jumping off the Bjork bandwagon.

you don't have to be on the Bjork bandwagon to enjoy her work. if its only selected songs then it’s still all good to be a fan of Bjork,

i think Bjork is one of those artist that definitely is to the required taste and going through her whole discography in one sitting would test the patience.

Personally i love all her albums excluding Volta.

Really surprised to know Unravel was boring for you, that is one of the most beautiful songs i have heard from anyone.

I kinda agree with this

I pretty much prefer Debut and specially Post

Homogenic marks the line that divides the "Bjork's albums that I like" from "Bjork's albums that I just respect"

I dunno... I bought the CD in the 90s and it still sounds great to me as a cohesive album... One of her best and I still stand by that...

Maybe you are too distracted by the production. The songwriting and singing is absolutely her best!

I was expecting so much from Unravel. I've heard so many great things about it. I listened to the whole album again today and my opinion hasn't changed at all. I'm going to order Vespertine on amazon in a couple days. I LOVE Pagan Poetry and the B-side Amphibian so hopefully the rest is just as good. If so, then it'll be one of my favorite albums ever.

That's the beauty of music--it's such a vaste feast and nobody is ever going to like or agree on every dish... Just depends on your personal palate. wink

Who knows though. I've been a Bjork fan for a couple weeks after all, it may grow on me

Sometimes, I think with Bjork's albums, beyond Debut and Post, people either love them or hate them respectfully... If you aren't really feeling it, don't force it lol

I think there is beauty to almost everything I've heard of hers, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea

If you will, so will I

To each his own. I don't quite understand people saying they are fans of her, but they only like her most accessible albums. It's a bit like someone saying they're a Prince fan... but they only like Purple Rain and Diamonds & Pearls.

You want Bjork at her peak... Homogenic and Vespertine.

homogenic is probably considered accesible in terms of Bjork albums.
