Fishbone did a great cover of "Freddie's Dead". It still has the vibe of the original Curtis Mayfield version, but in their funk/rock style.

Yeah I think the first time I heard "Freddie's Dead" was due to Fishbone's cover. Fishbone and Curtis actually did something together for the I'm Gonna Git You Sucka soundtrack (the song "Fly Guy") and Fishbone was in the film. | |
