Mylene Farmer ... What do you think of her?

I like her, I have most of her albums. She's like Madonna or Janet, she can't really sing that well, but her songs can be very good. Don't care much for the overly dramatic ballads she sometimes does.
Her live dvd "Live a Bercy" is one of my fave live dvds ever, great band, dancers and backing vocalists, including Madonna's own Donna Delory. Mylene's vocals are clearly overdubbed though.

She is great. I've seen her live 3 times, twice in Bercy and once in Strasbourg. Her live shows are amazing. I like all her CD's except the last one. Laurent boutonnat wasn't involved in that one, with a below average CD as a result. Fun fact: in her live band she uses the same drummer as Paul McCartney. And Madonna is interested in her, I saw her in the audience in Bercy in januari 2006. If you want to see what Mylene is capable of, check out desenchantee live 2006 on youtube. I have a remix album by her from the early 1990's. Other than that I don't know anything about her music. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton | |
