Diana Krall to Release New Album, ‘Glad Rag Doll,’ Oct 2nd.(Full Album preview)

Diana Krall is getting "Glad" on a journey to the past.

For the jazz singer's '20s and '30s-inspired "Glad Rag Doll," she teamed with producer T Bone Burnett (John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson), making what the singer calls "a song and dance record." The new sound, driven by Marc Ribot's guitar playing, is evident on "There Ain't No Sweet Man That's Worth the Salt of My Tears," a song written by composer Fred Fisher. Ribot also appeared on the Burnett-produced "National Ransom," the 2010 release by Krall's husband, Elvis Costello.

The album is due Oct 2nd. on Verve Records. It's her follow-up to 2009's Brazil-influenced "Quiet Nights," which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

There was a time when she used to entrance me, but haven't listened to her in a long, long time. I'll preview this one just see if it's to my liking.

Now I'm enthused enough about this project to buy it next week. Thanks, Joe.

Yeah I can't wait. The only CD I dislike Is The Girl In The Other Room. I may give it another chance, but when I heard it I put the CD away and never listened again.
