What a Gem, love those two. I saw Nick Ashford at Cornell hospital 2 months before he died. He look great I had no idea he was in his 70s and suffering from cancer R.I.P.

I've never heard of Champale, but I don't drink alcohol. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

It was a 70's- early 80's fad. My dad used to buy it for my mom back in the day. She would have her girlfriends over while they sat and sipped it in cute glasses with their cigarettes, chit chatting about work and the scandalous goings on at the salon where they all got their hair done
I think Pink Champale was their favorite, followed by another drink called the "Black Cow" (yes, as in that cocktail made infamous by the Steely Dan song of the same name)

Oh my gawd... I remember trying that stuff in the early 80s--it was nast-tey! Bleh! "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
