I feel you, I dont know what to do! =(.... I'm going to wait till next week tho....I think... gosh.. lol

Just wait. I wish I had.. the sound quality doesn't sound very good to me. It'd be better to wait a few days and hear the songs in better quality.

Al Capone

Wanna Be Startin Somethin, P.Y.T, Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin, Centipede, Torture, Somebody's Watchin Me (With Rockwell), State of Shock, with a layer of Don't Stop Til You Get Enough all wrapped together in one............

the bridge to Smooth Criminal....

This should have included on the BAD album, as the debut single biggrin biggrin

#1 written all over it.....authentic R&B....

after checking into it, Mike wrote this in 1985, when his creative output was hot as a firecracker

this was the rule rather than the exception back in the day and serves as a perfect example how far music has fallen off since the late 80s

this sounds exponientally better than anything on the airwaves today and this is only a demo......

Well I gave in and listened to it, curiosity and temptation got the best of me. And I'm glad I did it. I've already preorderd the set from Amazon so I was gonna hear them sooner or later--I just chose to hear it sooner razz

1. Dont Be Messin Around - Good song. When I first heard it when it was released back in June I wasnt all that impressed by it. But it has grown on me and I gotta admit, it is catchy.

2. I'm So Blue - Beautiful song. My favorite part is the sha da da da da da da chorus. Reminded me of what a beautiful voice he's always had. mushy

3. Abortion Papers - When I first heard the snippet of the song yesterday, my first reaction was neutral. Melody and beat wise it reminded me of Streetwalker a song I think is just average. But now hearing the song in full I've gone from neutral to dancing jig This song is catchier than the common cold! Really diggin it, its very funky. Those abortion papers! Signing your name against the Word of God! music Leave it to Michael to make a seriously catchy song about such a serious subject lol.

4. Free - Another beautiful song that's beautiful not just because of the melody and musical arrangement, but because you can hear Michael's happiness and spirit in it. His voice sounds pure, happy and carefree, and I love hearing his laughing at the very end. It also kind of reminds me of the song the Jacksons did on the Goin Places album "Even Though You're Gone."

5. The Price of Fame - Intriguing, haunting, raw and honest--probably one of the most autobiographical songs he's recorded. He's singing from his experience here, his voice tinged with a bit of anger, spitting out some of the words with a hint of bitterness... I feel the envious look at me, in spite and jealousy, then stand here in my shoes and get a taste of my blues, its the price of fame! You pay the price fame, so dont you ever complain! I love Michael's songs that deal with his own personal experience.

6. Al Capone - This song is simply THE BADDEST, FIERCEST, HOTTEST, MOST RIDICULOUSLY EARGASMIC & BRILLIANT PIECE OF MUSICAL PERFECTION TO COME OUT THIS DECADE. faint This song slays all the songs out there right now. Usher, Justin Beiber, Neyo, Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry, etc can only DREAM about singing a dynamite song like Al Capone much less writing a song like it. Quoting what Militant said: "Al Capone" is just.... wow." ITA.

Breaking News verses are def real IMHO. I don't think they are total fakes actually and I am a huge fan. They may have been fleshed out with other singers harmonys and loads of auto-tune though as they were unfinished.

What?

You must be confusing me with someone else. MJ is my joint favorite artist of all time, I've been a fan since I was 2 years old and I have not ONCE made a negative comment about him, not including the fake Cascio songs.

Also, I've never posted on digitalspy in my life.

A bit more info on the content of Spike Lee's Bad documentary:

There are also small yet enlightening insights and hints as to Jackson's true character, be it his interest in women, competitive spirit, professional drive or obsession over the smallest riff and dance step.

Garrett, for example, recalls how Jackson playfully threw popcorn at her as she tried to record "I Just Can't Stop Loving You," earning her, but not Jackson, a sharp rebuke from the onlooking producer Quincy Jones.

'Not of This World'

Country singer Sheryl Crow said she was often asked whether Jackson became aroused when they performed a raunchy rendition of the song on his record-breaking "Bad" tour. She did not provide an answer.

Actress Tatiana Thumbtzen speculated that mint on the singer's breath suggested he may have been prepared for a kiss at the end of the "The Way You Make Me Feel" video, despite strict instructions only to embrace the singer.

Lawyer John Branca, who administers Jackson's estate following his death aged 50 in 2009, recalled a meeting Jackson arranged with his arch-rival Prince.

"It was not a happy meeting," he said, adding Prince had brought along a "voodoo box" which Jackson feared meant he was trying to cast a spell on him.

Okay, Al Capone is brilliant.

I swear I hear some Roger Troutman influence here. Wasn't there a rumor or something that around this time MJ and Roger were working together?

Just googled this for the fun of it and YES, Troutman did appear to work on the original version of Smooth Criminal back in 1985. Troutman is even thanked in the credits for the BAD album.

Has anybody mentioned this? I haven't read anything by Vogel or anybody regarding this.

Funny, I heard the influence right away after I heard the full version.

Me and bboy87 have discussed it several times.

Basically, these polaroids surfaced on eBay. The seller claimed they were from the Smooth Criminal original recording session. Roger is clearly holding a guitar.

Whether that's Al Capone that Roger worked on we don't know. I suspect no. I suspect it's more likely to be "Chicago 1945". I always felt the guitar breakdown on the released "Smooth Criminal" was VERY Roger-esque. The bit after the announcement "OK, I want everybody to clear the area right now!" but according the credits it was David Williams. It's possible he may have been replaying a part Roger did on the demo.

As you mentioned, Roger is thanked in the credits. His name appears amongst others who worked on the album.

It's one of the great mysteries. Some friends attended the Q&A session with John Branca and Spike Lee at the "Bad 25" London documentary premiere recently. If I'd have been there, I would have asked John about that to see if he knows anything.

Also, for the record, the following text appears on "Zapp V" liner notes:

"Thanks also to Michael Jackson for giving so many of us that continued hope, and for being the ever-bright shining star; and thanks for allowing me the great privilege of visiting your home and studio. Thanks, Michael, also for honoring my music by putting it on your "bad" Bad album."

I suspect Roger's demo parts were replayed by David Williams.

There's also this:
