This is literally the final nail in the coffin. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

He has no history in executive producing, so why is he doin' this project? I think they justn want huge name attached to it so it will sell.
Why Tim and Missy are not a part pf this puzzles me. PRINCE: Always and Forever

I'm puzzled why they never led a project like this themselves in the eleven years she's been gone.

Apparently Missy had no idea that she was even involved in this new Aaliyah project. This is from her Twitter
@BenGray_: @MissyElliott I'm glad you gonna be involved on this aaliyah album miss!!! ^__^
@MissyElliott: @BenGray_ I had no clue there was one no 1 told me...

I've said it before. Timbaland and Missy are the only ones that need to be working on this. Drake shouldn't be sitting in no ones control chair. I even want R Kelly to be a part of this because I know he has a few outtakes from Age Ain't Nothing but a Number but I don't think he'll be involved. Drake is going to destroy this because they're talking about putting featured artists on these records and that's something Aaliyah NEVER relied on. 95% of her albums were solo songs with maybe 1 or 2 guest spots.
Her producers confirmed that a lot of the tracks she did were never finished, saying she might have only laid down the hook or a verse and that was it. [Edited 8/10/12 20:17pm]

How long did you want to wait for Timbaland and Missy to step up and do this?

This is the right time. It's about to be 11 years...

I bet they've tried many of times. It's not up to them but to whoever owns the masters. PRINCE: Always and Forever

Aaliyah's uncle and founder of Blackground Records, Barry Hankerson, owns her masters. Her immediate family has absoloutley no say so when it comes to releasing music. Blackground faded into the background when Aaliyah passed and Barry is only releasing new music to generate money and interest into the failing label.

Damon Dash Talks Aaliyah Posthumous Album August 14, 2012
While many are saddened by the idea of an Aaliyah posthumous album without the participation of her lifelong friends collaborators, Missy Eilliot and Timbaland, her boyfriend, music mogul Damon Dash is simply happy to "hear her voice."
Now that Blackground has confirmed a posthumous full-length, executive produced by Drake and Noah "40" Shebib, Dame tells The Juice that though he has yet to hear the single, "Enough Said," he relishes in the idea of hearing her voice.
When asked if he'd like to lend a hand in assisting with the project if offered, Dame wrestled with the idea. "That's interesting. I didn't know that," he said to the news of a posthumous album. "It depends on how he [Drake] wants me to help. I don't know what I could bring to the table there, but yeah I would do it. Anything involving Aaliyah and it's positive and the energy [is] right with it, I would be a part of it. My love for Aaliyah will never change."

I doubt it. Drake probably pulled some of those nails out so he could jerk off inside the coffin.

Shlohmo Remixes Aaliyah & Drake “Enough Said”
Earlier this month, Drake released a ghostly trackproduced by Noah "40" Shebib that sampled Aaliyah, making for an otherworldly posthumous collaboration.
"Enough Said" finds Aaliyah's breathy vocals looped into the beat above a sharp snare tap, and Drake's solo verse is, well, almost an afterthought in the face of hearing Aaliyah. L.A. producer (and c0-headliner of Prefix's Northside Festival show back in June) Shlohmo came out with a remix of the track yesterday, warping the vocals and beat into a gauzy, slow-as-molasses tumble. It's unnerving, trill and fittingly elegaic.
