Just a year after Amy Winehouse died tragically from accidental alcohol poisoning, her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was rushed to a hospital for a suspected drug overdose.

Fielder-Civil, 30, had to be placed in a medically induced coma and is currently on life support after suffering multiple organ failure, The Sun reports.

He was reportedly found choking in bed on Aug. 3 by Sarah Aspin, the mother of his 15-month-old son, Jack, and taken to a nearby hospital in West Yorkshire, England.

"The doctors say they don't know the prognosis. They said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection," Aspin told the paper. "I'm praying he'll survive, but I'm having to prepare myself that he may never wake up."

Fielder-Civil, who has long battled heroin addiction, had reportedly gone out drinking with a friend, and when he staggered home the next day, Aspin believed he had taken an illicit substance after noticing him slurring his speech.

Aspin was woken up early the next morning to Fielder-Civil struggling to breathe and immediately called paramedics.

"His eyes were rolled back and his mouth was locked together," Aspin recalled.

Once the paramedics arrived on scene, they saw he had swallowed his tongue, choked on his vomit and his left lung was not working, according to The Sun.

After being rushed to the hospital, Aspin was able to spend some time with Fielder-Civil because doctors believed he wouldn't survive.

"They let me in to hold his hand after 45 minutes. I found out later that they did that because they thought he was going to die," she said.

Fielder-Civil and his ex-wife Winehouse first met in 2005 and were married for two years before splitting up in 2009.

Winehouse was found dead in July 2011 at the age of just 27. The singer passed away from accidental alcohol poisoning after years of battling drug and alcohol addiction.

Despite his daughter's rocky relationship with Fielder-Civil, Winehouse's father, Mitch Winehouse, took to Twitter on Thursday to express his concern.

"Terrible news about Blake this morning," he wrote. "Remember Amy loved him. Let's pray for his recovery."

i couldn't care less if he's ok

Don't know if I should feel remorse for this fool or not... he surely made Amy's life a living hell (not saying Amy ain't all to blame for it but... well you know...).

You mean the one that used to brag publicly that he never bought a chick a drink before he met Amy and thanks to her he'd never have to do it after? The same dude that used to post film of his wife high off her socks inside her Camden home on youtube because in his own words, "It's funny!"

something in the earths rotation is off. the drug use is out of control. from people huffing freon, meth, bath salts. people are going for the highs that also will make them feel bad or just quickly kill them or turn them into zombies. i think some people are just not afraid to die, the climate changed. i mean if you are going for a high why not go for one that will make you feel good and not just feel good for a minute? get drunk, get laid, smoke some weed but bejeezus people are consuming stuff like meth!!! god!! why not go eat some salad or get on a tred mill works for me. i had to rant
