Can You Guys Help Me Out? I think I'm in a music drought. I can't find anything.
I'm a fan of R&B/Soul/Jazz Fusion/Funk of 1970-1974. And it seems like I found everything.
Do you guys have any advice?

Try Timmy's New Music Thread...It's a sticky.

I'm not into "new music". I'm a sucker for anything from 1965-1995.

I hope you're very young..cause you will need a lot of time to consume all the music. Good luck. Youtube can be your best source..it offers some decent recommendations if you like a particular song or artist. Go to amazon, type in your favorites and look at the recommendations as well. It's a good path to start.

[Edited 8/1/12 14:34pm] You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

You might want to talk to Paligap or TheAudience about fusion. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. Regarding Fusion, you might find something of interest here: "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Type in the Mizell Brothers in youtube, wikipedia, discogs or whatever else that has infos. I think they were the kings of the 70s fusion scene IMO.
Also, try to track down the albums that were released via CTI/KUDU(Which also has many of the acts that the Mizell Bros produced/worked with).
I hope you'll enjoy it. And there's nothing wrong with searching that period of music, you'll stumble upon a wealth of interesting projects.
