I know alot of folks have been dissing Lu lately, but I couldn't help but break down in tears with him after seeing this recent interview (from 7/25/12) featuring MTV's Swift about the declining conditions of Chicago and the inner cities across America. I live in Chicago and I'm a big Lupe fan, so this is really moving.

You can do all you can to help and foster, but one can't do it alone. Just can't. I salute Lupe for being real and honest about it. It's so true.

Yep, saw it yesterday morning; and even if i'm not from where he's from, i got emotional watching that. There's nothing that really needs to be explained or said about it, aside from saying it is beautiful to see his heart with his village, so to speak. i couldn't imagine seeing myself years ago and looking at video of all of your friends family community that are currently dead, in jail, or in some other form of captivity (which is why i usually HATE when interviewers show people old clips of themselves, because they're trying to get tears out of you for ratings; however i don't think Sway was in that category of interviewers all. i don't think no one saw Lupe reaction coming.)

All in all, it's nice to see some people still have heart in the world for where they came from, no matter how grimy it is/was.

I predict --and i'm sure people have already done it-- someone's gonna ask the usual question of "well what is he gonna do", so before such ignorance pops up, i will tell you he actually does have his own foundation that offers programs for inner city youth in the Chi. Aside from that, PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO F*CKIN HAVE EMOTIONS and express what they're feeling....if you saw your friends on the screen, most of which have passed away, your block which looks the same, perhaps triggering memories of your father (i think Lupe's father died around that time) and growing up rough, you'd feel something too. So all the effin pessimists can go jump off a bridge somewhere. Props to Lupe; positive energy to him.

Who's been dissing Lu these days? I haven't heard anything, I've just been pretty much anticipating his new album in September.
