Slash has said he would love to appear on cult TV programme Sesame Street.

Speaking to Rip It Up magazine, the former Guns N' Roses guitarist says although he's never been asked, he'd be keen to appear alongside Elmo, Oscar The Grouch and Big Bird.

"Sesame Street have never approached me, though I would do it and I love kids," he says. "There's no way I'd ever turn Sesame Street down, "but I don't know if parents would think I'm the best public influence on little kids."

Earlier this month, it was announced thatMad Men's John Hamm was set to appear in the show's forthcoming 43rd season, which begins in September in the US. American pop rockers Train will also appear, while Survivor's 'Eye Of The Tiger' is due for a musical makeover to become 'Eye Of The Potato'.

Other musicians to have appeared on the show include Johnny Cash, REM, Feist, andBeyonce.

Sesame Street first aired in 1969 and is home to several iconic Muppets created by Jim Henson, including Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster and Elmo. The show has won 118 Emmy Awards and eight Grammy Awards and now airs in more than 140 countries.
