I think Gaga has a great voice and is a very good live performer but the only song by her that I actually love is 'Just Dance'. I don't think her music is terrible but I don't think it's amazing either...for me, it just 'is', meaning I wouldn't buy any of her albums but I wouldn't quickly change the radio station if one of her songs came on either.

I've always hated her image; it just annoys the piss out of me. I find it distracting, unneccesary, and, at times, just plain attention whoreish. A legitamately talented artist shouldn't need to keep changing from outrageous imagery to outrageous imagery every single song unless they are extremely desperate for attention. I get she loves art and fashion but consistency isn't a terrible thing and even the best designers and art icons don't change ideals this constantly in their works.

I personally like Justin and Kylie more than Gaga because they don't let the imagery overshadow the music as I believe Gaga unintentionally does sometimes but again that's just my POV. Personally, I like Katy Perry more than Gaga. She writes her own songs and plays multiple instruments too just like Gaga so I don't compare them on those areas. Gaga has the waaay better voice of the two but let's be honest, Katy is 10 times more attractive than Gaga...I'm sorry but that woman is busted no matter how much makeup she wears. I think Marilyn's opinion is right on the money. You can respect one aspect of a person's talents but dislike others and still like that individual for who they are. Marilyn likes Gaga the person but not Gaga the artist...I've been there with more than one artist myself. All just my

My hope is thast she'll develop as a singer because she's pretty much still an up-and-comer, no matter how massively successful she's become in her SHORT career.

Her achilles heel is her lyric-writing. She has confusing messages for dance songs. I mean if she wants to be clever and philosophical then she could take some lessons from Frank Ocean.

And her straight-forward songs can be painfully comical. When my sister heard "Telephone" for the first time she thought it sounded like those songs they used to make up on that "Deep House Dish" skit they used to do on SNL. And it does.
