Speaking at a press conference in London earlier today (July 18), The Who's guitarist, Pete Townshend, commented on the size of The Rolling Stones' frontman Mick Jagger's manhood.

While announcing The Who's 36 date tour of North America, which kicks off this autumn, Townshend said:

What I remember of the size of Mick Jagger's penis - I remember it as being huge and extremely tasty.

The comment follows Keith Richards' less complimentary words about his bandmate's member, which he notoriously made in his autobiography, Life. According to Rolling Stone, to laughs from bandmate Roger Daltrey, Townshend added: "I don't remember anything about Roger's… and wouldn't dare to mention it. Let's hope that makes the internet." The Who will be performing their 1973 album 'Quadrophenia' in its entirety on their newly announced US tour, which begins on November 1 in Sunrise, Florida, visiting Boston, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and more, finishing up in Providence, Rhode Island on February 26, 2013. During the press conference, the band also spoke about their contribution to the Olympics. Of this, Daltrey said: "We've recorded a piece of music which I think is a fabulous ending for the Olympics. This country put some fabulous music into the world. It wasn't really about the Who being a on a TV show. It's about just making great music that is applicable to the end of that event, where you've had people who have given the last eight years of their lives to be there on that field doing their thing."

I think we need a bit more context. Was he specifically asked about Mick's penis? If so then what is wrong with him answering the question? If he just mentioned it out of the blue then, yes, that's a bit strange.

And to those wondering if he was actually describing a sexual encounter with Mick, I doubt that he was. He just made that blurb to get them headlines. This from the same man who denied he had any bisexual thoughts but here he is talking eloquently about something he's never seen or if he did, it was his lame attempt at sarcasm if he was asked the question.

As a Who fan it is a little bit of an eye-roll to see this as the leading quote in their tour announcement. But Pete says outrageous things all the time. At one show I was at he said "John Lennon? I fucked him." I didn;t take it as a heavy serious confession.

His book comes out in October, and I'm looking forward to it!
