Can anyone witnessing this charade honestly say they are surpised at this family's antics?

Any reasonably well adjusted, sane person knows they are a dysfunctional lot. there were clearly many issues long before Michael Jackson died.

It was surely only a matter of time before his three children were used as pawns in the family's twisted, dysfunctional, nonsense 'masquerading as normal' circus of an existence.

I actually hope some sane, level headed person takes guardianship of the children and that every last abusive family member's true motivations are exposed.

What an absolute travesty. Incrdibly sad that minors are subjected to this nonsense on top of their grieving of their father

true.
but the truth is another point too.
If Jackson family did not have such a talented and charismatic child, I very much doubt that Gordy would be interested in the contract. Michael was always pronounced the star of this family, other children are not nearly as talented and charismatic.
It is a fact (you love that word, right?) lol

I'd say it's opinion rather than fact to state 'Michael was the star of the family and the other children are not nearly as talented and charismatic’. It maybe hard for you to digest, but there are some people who do not rate his music or talent. (For what it’s worth I thought he was a genius, I like some of his tunes, have most his albums, but didn’t like much of his personality and didn’t really find most of his music to be relatable)

But I’m sure you are being sarcastic here because you can't possibly be silly enough not to know the difference between what is a stone cold fact and person’s subjective opinion.

And yes I love the truth, but in the words of the of the greatest living actor, Jack Nicholson (my opinion – see the difference?) some people ‘can’t handle the truth’

The word initially does not make that much difference, cause the other siblings also had Joe there and none of the other brothers made it this far. The fact that Joseph helped him initially does not mean he wouldn't be able to do it himself, so what's your point? The fact that I can't obviously prove it cause I am not God to change the history does not mean that it couldn't happen. The fact that he was able to go on without his family while the rest struggled proves he was able to do very well himself.

You’re clearly not understanding the point being made, which is that without Joe’s relentless pursuit for the Jackson 5 to succeed they wouldn’t have made it. A 10year old MJ will have never gone to Barry Gordy on his own accord.

Even La Toya Jackson acknowledged this.

My god what kind of people are on this forum? – you’d think it was a Taylor Swift or One Direction one.

The more you study Michael Jackson & Madonna you'll notice what polar opposites they actually are. On one side stands Michael Jackson, someone who was just naturally talented, musically gifted yet stumbled (with his own admission or with help) by being a dumbass in a lot of ways. In the other corner is Madonna, a woman who never mastered any arena (singing, dancing, writing, etc) yet used her intelligence and street-smarts to conquer the industry. I'm surprised more people haven't caught on to it. Manipulating the media instead of letting the media manipulate you. That's Madonna. Never the victim. Fucking with the public, not becoming a joke of the public. But at the same time, she's an average commodity which is why many initially dismissed her as a one-hit-wonder. She has no raw presence about herself, and certaintly not in the same vain as Michael Jackson. Numerous rivals of hers, Mariah, Whitney, and Janet, on paper, out-rank her in artistic skill. But what they didn't possess was her wit and business-savvy, which is why the former ended up with the greatest career and legacy. In her prime Britney was a far better dancer and oozed charisma and Lady Gaga is miles ahead in vocal ability, yet neither one will never be Madonna. And again it's primarily because there's been nobody else that's been such a genius at self-promotion and being on top-of-everthing.

Whenever the conversation about his financial status and personal life comes up for whatever reason my mind goes to his 80s contemporary and a feeling of what could have been if he had the same stability. What could have been if he wasn't proned to these leeches only concerend about money and if his fucked up family was completely out of the picture.

Sorry if I seem random with that I just had to vent. It's what I'm feeling right now.

Everyone knew it was just a matter of time, this is a family that was selling shit before mj was cold. The only real surprise is that Paris seems to be leading the charge.

But it was only a matter of time thats why Im enjoying this mess with a cool martini Its fun to watch a trainwreck.

Yes, but you and I both know that Janet never did half the shit that Ms. Spears had done in those few short years. And it was some S-H-I-T (we'll begin with the clean, close head shave and leave it at that). Please don't let whatever it is clouding your judgement in this area fool you. Anyway, this is not about her, but I just had to do some checking real quick.

Bottom line...in order for Janet to get involved, there has to be some dire shit going on. We ALL know (Janet lovers and haters alike) that Janet has reverence for her family. She has ALWAYS risen above the fray, and would not be involved with this mess if it didn't have some merit to it (being worth hundreds of millions of dollars herself, she certainly don't need MJ's money). And snatching a phone away from the child is nothing. Paris is obviously too grown to begin with. I say handle yo bizzness Janet. Only you and everyone else involved know what's TRULY going on. The rest of us only know conjecture.

Allegedly, TJ was made a temporary guardian.

This is what someone posted on KOP.

Before Bekloff appointed TJ ... TJ's lawyer said TJ had a strange phone call with Katherine yesterday and TJ said, "I've never heard my grandmother talk like that." TJ added, "She wasn't sharp. The pauses, choice of vocabulary ... she has not used certain phrases like that before." TJ thought she was talking in code. As TJ addressed the court, he was choking up.

Good post there.

I wouldn't say she hasn't 'mastered' dancing, she is very skilled in dance, she definately has dance far beyond Mariah & Whitney lol so that side of artistic ability she has on paper. As far as Raw presence she is very intelligent and fierce probably in ways Michael Jackson & Whitney Houston even Janet were not, because every move she made she was in control. She always had that sharpness and that is raw presence

MJ outside of being wicked on stage & video, and he was definately intelligent in being hands on in his career, that other side that we saw in interviews, that sappy I'm so shy person who lived in a fantasy world that he never really experienced, doesn't have much presence. Which is where the imbalance you talked about come in. Which is partially why all those things in his life from the race changing to the children issues became so prevalent so fast after Thriller.

M, She also writes & cowrites her songs Janet didn't write till the Janet album overall and a lot of what Janet does is copying Michael Jackson moves and some other things as well as some things of Madonna(Janet shows at times tend to be predictable like her albums), how much of Michaels songs were all Michaels writing, Whitney didn't write her songs.

Mariah was very hands on in her post Tommy M career

She at an early age and in that latest of the 70's and earliest of the 80's understood media pop culture and what not and only a sharply intelligent woman could take that and still be on the top in the 1980's 1990's & 2000's That's not sheer luck. That's and Intelligent Sharp Presence

TMZ:
The judge said Katherine was not suspended for wrongdoing, but that she was prevented from doing her guardianship duties by "intentional act from third parties."

I am a little confused though, because I was trying to play devil's advocate in my head to understand why they were doing this, but there are some things I don't understand:

Also, if they were to win the challenge, who would be the executors of the estate? Is there, really, any solid proof. Are they just stupid and didn't think things through?

Who is Trent? Has he been the one taking care of the kids the entire time?

What's going to happen during Thanksgiving?

Sorry for the edit in your post, it just makes it easier for me to weigh your questions, I have 2 estate lawyers in my family and we were talking abut this smile This is how it was explained to me- although naturally there will be some variations in estate law, depending on the state under which jurisdiction lies for a case in question, etc.. We have a few lawyers on the org too ( and since I'm not one) I hope one of them can chime in at some point and correct me where I'm not reporting this correctly geek

Due to the contractual arrangement Michael has with Debbie Rowe as her being a surrogate mom waiving all parental rights to the children, after his passing, as his heirs they are in effect orphans.

Where estate law is concerned, in the case of orphans, guardians are designated, and it is with them that the children live. The guardian does not handle the money, the Executor does. However, the guardian makes day to day decisions for the children's welfare such as where they live, where they will be schooled, give consent for the child's health or medical treatment, etc.

Until the children come of age to receive their inheritance, (up to 4) Executors are given the power through the will of the deceased to manage the money of the estate on behalf of the children until whatever age the will stipulates, or, if no age is stipulated, until age 18 under California law.

In terms of how the money is managed, some wills stipulate what type of investments on behalf of the children can be authorized or prohibited. Executors are also responsible for setting out money to pay for all the children's expenses no matter what they are, as long as it's documented properly (and likely reviewed by an accredited financial analyst annually). Guardians only have to turn in their books every 2 years.

As we can see, Mrs. Jackson is raising the children in a new home in Calabasas (but I don't know if it's purchase or rented). If she did not purchase the home herself, that is okay and well allowed. Actually, by California estate law it is a common occurrance that an appointed guardian is allowed to rent a home with monies from the estate if it is for providing an appropriate place to rear the children (Good lord, I'm just picturing those lazy brothers snapping up properties all over the place on behalf of the children if they have their own hand chosen executors in place smoker ) . As for buying a home, after review from the estate Executors, if a home is purchased then it becomes property of the children via Trust as proportinal ownership, until they are no longer under guardianship & old enough to assume full ownership of the property.

(Now here's the kicker) If an Executor is challenged and considered by others to be unfit for their role of managing the money of the estate, he/she can be removed (I just don't know if it has to go all the way to State Supreme Court to make it happen).

In the case of an Executor being unable to act, there is usually a second, third, and fourth replacement Executor named in the will. BUT, if there is no such person named, then the matter is decided by the court as to who has the best welfare of the children at heart and will assume the responsibility of managing the money & investments of the estate, and the expenses of the children.

******************************************************

So from my armchair-wanna-be detective analysis...

... at the end of the day, until 15 year old Prince and 14 year old Paris are of age to receive their inheritance from their father, whoever is named as Executor really has control and management over Michael's money. If there's going to be a money grab, then folks better get moving quick, and try to get the executor of their choice in place to authorize who knows what kinds of shenanigans on their behalf, because before you know it, those kids are going to be grown and the chance to mismanage and leech of of Mike's funds will be nill. deal

Race changing? confused Nobody can change their race and Michael had Vitiligo

Oh and Michael wrote 90 percent of his catalogue UNLIKE Madonna. biggrin

Madonna was a very smart business woman but she doesnt have any talent at all. She has made some catchy music, pushes herself creatively and has some good big productions but overall I dont understand her popularity besides that. She doesnt deserve to be compared to people like Michael or Prince who had RAW talent that they just had. Madonna had to go to school for dance and even though she went to school for dance doesnt necessarily make her good because technically Madonna isnt a exceptional dancer... very average although she has her moments where she does a good job but she is way out of Janets league in that respect LIGHT YEARS WAY OUT!

Also, Michael had a different upbringing than Madonna which had an affect on them as people. Although, he was shy, Michael had a presence and was able to connect with people unlike Madonna who gets attention because she tries to be shocking.

Although Michael was shy, he was interesting and did unordinary things like bringing bubbles to an award show, naming his house Neverland etc.. He was FAR from boring which is why he is a FAR greater legend than Madonna. I aint knocking Madonna although she very overrated she is an Icon right behind Michael but I dont think they should be compared .... EVER.

I think its insulting to Michaels accomplishments and TALENT than you would even sit here and compare him to MADONNA not to mention Madonna doesnt even have the same popularity as Michael. Yep this has nothing to do with the kids. Prince and Paris need to lawyer up and file for Emnacipation.

MJ KIDS
TJ NOW TEMP GUARDIAN
KATHERINE OUT

EXCLUSIVE

update_bar

11:06 AM TJ's lawyer was just advised to have TJ move to get PERMANENT GUARDIANSHIP of the kids. It should be filed in the next 48 hours.

10:34 AM JUDGE BECKLOFF JUST MADE TJ THE TEMPORARY GUARDIAN AND SUSPENDED KATHERINE'S GUARDIANSHIP!

Before Beckloff appointed TJ ...

Beckloff said this was not a power play by TJ and ordered the Michael Jackson Estate to give TJ the funds necessary to take care of security and anything else that's needed for the children.

Before Beckloff appointed TJ, the lawyer for MJ's kids said the kids all support TJ getting temporary guardianship.

The lawyer for the MJ Estate just said the executors are very concerned for the kids and Katherine.

The judge said Katherine was not suspended for wrongdoing, but that she was prevented from doing her guardianship duties by "intentional act from third parties." In other words, the judge smells a rat in the form of Randy, Jermaine and Janet.

10:34 AM
The judge just ordered that MJ's 3 kids NOT be removed from California without a court order. The judge added that TJ should file a petition for PERMANENT GUARDIANSHIP. The judge said in addition to giving Diana Ross notice, they must also give notice to Debbie Rowe.

10:33 AM
Katherine's lawyer, Sandra Ribera, just said she (Sandra) has been to the house several times recently and she believes Katherine has been held against her will.

10:31 AM
TJ's lawyer, Charles Schultz, just told the court, Katherine is unavailable and all they want is a temporary guardianship so he seems to be saying Ross is an unnecessary party. Schultz also said there was an "incident" at the Calabasas house last night that escalated. He added TJ is unsure Katherine is acting voluntarily

10:29 AM
The Judge will not hear TJ's petition, BECAUSE no one notified Diana Ross, who is Katherine's successor to guardianship under Michael's will.

10:13 AM
--
The hearing is underway. Before getting to TJ's petition, Judge Mitch Beckloff is handling several other MJ Estate matters.

TJ Jackson
-- Tito's son -- is about to enter the probate court in downtown L.A., along with an army of lawyers, trying to get temporary guardianship of Michael Jackson's 3 kids.

Katherine's lawyer, Perry Sanders, tells TMZ, "This is a very tense time when of course we don't feel Mrs. Jackson should be removed as guardian and we would vigorously oppose that on anything other than an extremely short-term basis, until she returns home."

We're also told Katherine had high blood pressure before she skipped L.A., and the spa visit did her good. But TJ doesn't think it did the kids any good.

[Edited 7/25/12 10:31am]

I think its insulting to Michaels accomplishments and TALENT than you would even sit here and compare him to MADONNA not to mention Madonna doesnt even have the same popularity as Michael. Her being a good business woman has NOTHING to do with this thread and they were TWO DIFFERENT people than with through DIFFERENT things that had DIFFERENT childhoods. Stop trying to bash Michael and put him down. Nobody insisted that all the choices he made was perfect for you to make this post in this thread that has nothing to do with MADONNA eek

I'm not bashing Michael at all. I think it's a fair analysis. He had a sad life in a lot ways that he talked about himself. I wish he didn't and I actually said in there that I wish he didn't but what's fact is fact. I was making a contrast between someone who has more talent yet struggled personally and someone with less talent but runs a pretty stable life and career. Where is the lie in that? Where is the insult? If anything I'm elevating his gifts.

I was being as objective as possible. I admire the both of them.

Identity

Katherine Jackson is as loony and dingbat crazy as her money-grubbing offspring. The judge did the right thing by revoking her custody of Michael's children.
