Really? LL is still in the game making 7 figures.................what measurement are u using?

Just because he's making more than Kool these days doesn't mean that LL won the battle. Besides, LL is involved in multiple ventures other than music these days, correct? So we really can't attribute his "7 figures" for record sales. Just sayin'.

Like I said..........depends on what measurement u are using.

One is still in the game.......one is NOT!

[img:$uid]http://www.mjj2005.com/kopboard/public/style_emoticons/default/stopit.gif[/img:$uid] right there...

Let's all use our common sense here for a minute Cap...

Sure LL is making "7 G's" or whatever...

But is it from rap? Or other endeavors?

How many copies did his last album make? The one with G-Unit?

I'm SURE that shit ain't go wood, right?

So I'm guessing the 7 G's were from non-music endeavors, am I correct?

Just because he got MONEY did NOT mean he won any battle.

And I go back and forth with LL and Kool and if you think LL won the war, you might as well dream for a cool summer without no heat because that shit ain't even accurate. lol

"Jack" didn't rip nobody mane. lol

LL is an ENTERTAINER, not just a rapper. Kool was never able to expand beyond what he could do so that's an unfair comparison really.

There was no war. lol

These were just two rappers gunning for power. lol

They did their raps.

Then they moved on.

But as far as the songs go, Kool won. nod That's it lol

The best thing for LL to do was to move on because if he didn't, he would've been cast out like Kool eventually did by the powers that be in hip-hop.

I see the point your making here lol . However, how much money he makes currently has nothing to do with him winning or losing a MC battle..... just saying razz lol

And you know what Gray, you absolutely right. lol

Some rappers view battles in comparing how much money they have compared to another rapper or how many times their songs play on the radio compared to another rapper. ex. Jay Z

but seriously, real talk here Gray... can you honestly judge the quality of a MC battle off of how much money so one makes? What does that have to do with the lyrics of the battle? Now if we were comparing who was better at successfully crossing over and maintaining a career than I can definitly agree with your point wink Otherwise, the arguement your making is why some delusionally believe Jay beat Nas which is not accurate when were talking about a MC battle. razz

No, I can't but I'm NOT look at the "rap" lyrics part of the battle. I'm looking at the bigger picture. It's a bad habit of mine.

My friends and I still say to each other (mostly on the golf course - after sinking a long putt), "How ya like me now?" lol

I loved that whole East Coast/West Coast rap feud. I was firmly in the East Coast camp. hmph!

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

If you ask anyone that has rhymed that financial success NEVER factored into a battle...which this was back then...nothing about winning a war for longevity or nothing like that...simply rhyming

Delivery, words,cadence...lyrically destroying your opponent...nothing more...nothing less...Nothing and I mean NOTHING else mattered..... Carry on

Like I said..........depends on what measurement u are using.

One is still in the game.......one is NOT!

What was LL's last project? Didn't his more recent projects fall without any noise?

10 was his last good album that i can remember back in 2002 before he went

making some wack songs on upcoming albums with Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland.

LL is one of the great MC's but Kool Moe Dee owned him from 1987-1991 and Kool

Moe was instrumental in helping LL raise his game from being just another ignorant rapper

with no direction to an all around articulate MC.

Interesting..... What MC spit those words of wisdom?

Of course everyone wants to make money, but one rapper isn't better than another just because they made more money.. That's all I'm trying to say....
