R.I.P Jon Lord

Jon Lord the organ player from Deep Purple just died.

This most likely won't get a ton of look's.... but seriously this guy was a top notch organ player. Check out some of his works

Gunshalen thanks for posting on here about Jon

Alongside Prince, Jon Lord was my other musical hero and I was absolutely devastated to hear of his passing yesterday. I am still quite speechless and cannot believe the master of the Hammond is no longer with us.

Thankfully Deep Purple were more generous with their live material than Prince so there is a wealth of material out there.

I got to meet Jon a few years ago after a lecture in London. There was no security, no PR people telling what I could and couldn't do\say just a giant of a man (literally) welcoming me as if I'd know him 25 years, he was an absolute gentlemen and a true musical inspiration. I will never ever forget that evening.

I love you Jon, God bless!

That opening organ riff on "Hush" was mind blowing when I was a little kid. It's one of the earliest songs I can remember. Deep Purple had many great songs and Jon Lord was very influential. He's one of the best! R.I.P.

i bet you also know ,when Blindman Cries, knight,Burn and Child in Time. John Lord wrote and produced Sam Brown's hit song Stop, featuring his organ solo also. Should i mention that he was founder and early band member of that little band White Snake?you can hear his beautiful synth intro on Here We Go again .The man was a living legend and it's saddens me that here we have only 10 replies. Orgers write esseys about Kanya West, lil wayne but the truth is those fuckers couldn't wipe Johns shoes. R.I.P Legend sad

He wasn't the founder, David Coverdale was, even though John Lord appeared on all the early albums, he wasn't the first choice keyboard player.

This is amazing,
