Joe Tex's answer record to Jerry Butler "He Will Break Your Heart"

This was the follow up to his first charting single on the pop charts, a cover of Etta James "All I Could Do Was Cry" on Anna Records (owned by Berry Gordy's sister Gwen.) It peaked at #102 in August of 1960.

So he would release a another 2 part single, this time similar to Jerry Butler hit "He Will Break Your Heart." This one didn't chart, hough he did borrow the rap he created on is previous 2 part single.

After this track, he actually went on to do some writing for Jerry Butler.

Wasn't "I Ain't Gonna Bunp" an answer records to Jimmy Castor's "Bertha Butt Boogie"?

Because "What's Going On" was addressing matters close to Joe's heart (as much as it was Marvin's), like bringing unity to people. wink

How could I forget SYSLJFM (The Letter Song) was an answer record to Wicked Pickett's 634-5789.
