I just heard of this in a newspaper, here, in India. I thought it was interesting what people of Asian origin in the West are upto. But then I checked some of the videos mentioned in the article on Youtube, and nothing caught my ear - maybe except one beat of a song which had a tabla in it.

Does anyone here listen to this stuff and have some recommendations? My tastes are like, hiphop and RNB, but I've liked almost nothing that I've heard on radio/TV/net over the last 5 years or so (except Beyonce).

It's just hip/hop R&B for Indian/South Asian artist ....if you think about it, it's no big thing...they just have to make a name for everything these days...
