Your favourite socially conscious albums?

Marvin Gaye: What's Going On

Sly and the Family Stone: There's a Riot Goin' On

Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814

Stevie Wonder: Song's in the Key of Life

I'm investigating language change throughout time via socially conscious music as part of my coursework. I'd greatly appreciate your favourties, particulary in more-recent history.

Your failure to read even the simplest of texts is simply remarkable.

It wasn't the spelling (that's trivial).

How about, a socially conscious song/album within the last 2 decades? lol

I Have many biggrin but here are a few of my favorites from the 60's to the present. not including one's that have already been said ALA Marvin, Stevie, Curtis

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

Btw... i never got why RN1814 was regarded as a social album lol

Livin In A World they didn't make was good... but some of the other lyrics on ther elike... there's people who don't have enough to eay neutral that's just common sense Janet lol

Idk, the couple ''social'' type lyrics just seemed to be kind of out of place to me on the album.. like it was trying a little to hard to invoke a line or 2 of politcal means.

Yes! I don't know why I forgot to post this.

In my opinion, it should be required listening in every music appreciation and history class.
