Run-DMC to Reform?
July 9, 2012
Though they've been on hiatus since 2002, the year that founding member Jason "Jam-Master Jay" Mizell was murdered, Run-DMC is officially back together, according to reports.

I thought the reason why they stop performing was due to DMC's voice?
I'M NOT SHOUTING, JEEZ!

No it was because of the passing of Jay. I also thought Rev Run quit rap all together because he is a minister now. He was at my school last year. He did a hip hop seminar, not alot of people came. I was disappointed in his comments on todays music though. He said he was happy with the way rap is presented today and even said he liked Drake, Nikki, Jay Z, Wayne etc. If this is true I rather them not come back and tarnish their legacy with bubble gum music just to get played on the radio since he thinks selling out is sooo great fuck otta here.

There were actually so many stories about what led to their breakup but apparently they were still together when JMJ got killed.
They never stopped looking at each other as brothers. It's just that when they got older, Joey and Daryl just had different paths and they couldn't agree on the chosen path. Sure Daryl had vocal problems but even then he still wanted to tour when Joey didn't.
Also there was something bittersweet about the funeral. They couldn't even agree on what happened at the funeral. But I think them being inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame did give them time to heal old wounds.
Hopefully it'll work out for the best for them both. They're legends in the game. Much love.

More Reunion News:
Run and DMC have agreed to perform this fall at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, TX.
In honor of Jam Master Jay, organizers of the three-day showcase are working with the group to donate a portion of the event's proceeds to Jay's JMJ Foundation for Music.
The non-profit group is dedicated to providing access to the arts to children and young adults, regardless of socio-economic status.
The Fun Fun Fun Fest takes place Nov. 2-4. Passes are already on sale.

He released a solo album a few years ago You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Maybe he's being called by Commissioner Gordon. Don't you see the signal in the sky?
