What do you consider to be Jill Scott's best cd? I say it's her debut ccd "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

The first one was and still is a masterpiece. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yep. EVERYONE had that cd when it came out "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

True. Who Is Jill Scott? is certainly something to behold. That's her best one, but all of her stuff is really excellent. Check me out and add me on:

Silver, some would disagree with you about her newer stuff "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

. I only have her first 3 cd's. Here's how I rank them: 1. Beautifully Human - from the warmup/I'm Not Afraid to I Keep/Still Here some classic stuff here. 2. The Real Thing - the interlude Crown Royal is sick 3. Who Is Jill Scott - I still listen to this, but not as often as the other 2. .

In what way? Yes, there has been some slight excursions in her sound and style, but I still respect the fact that you know what you're gonna expect from Jill Scott. She doesn't come off as forced or limited. I thought that albums such as The Real Thing and The Light of the Sun were necessary. Check me out and add me on:

THe cd that Golden is on-a lot of people dislike that one "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

That's the perception of people, but the Beautifully Human album was a great direction for her to go into. Who Is Jill Scott? and Beautifully Human kind've goes hand in hand to me. [Edited 7/7/12 8:50am] Check me out and add me on:

"Beautifully Human" wasn't completely a bust, there are some gems on it, but it paled in comparison to her first cd. [Edited 7/7/12 9:46am] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

My vote goes to her, debut. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

The only "good" album in her discography IMO.

This one rarely gets mentioned in her discography:
I love the experimental vibe of the + disc. Check me out and add me on:

That and her debut "Who is Jill Scott" are my favorites albums by her but I quickly lost interest after I bought her third album. I don´t dislike her, it´s just that her newer songs leave me a bit cold and I couldn´t stand how she´d overstretch and oversing stuff, and talk about simple stuff like it was really deep when it wasn´t at all. I heard she´s lost A LOT of weight and I googled some recent pictures. It´s amazing. I wonder how she managed to lose so much weight without having lots of flab on her body. I guess I could easily get into her music again if I gave it a try but the third album did very little for me. Some singers, like Jill and Erykah, are really nice and talented people but at some point, they ( including Lauryn Hill) start gettig a tad too cryptic and "in the know" when they´re really not, and it borders on arrogance when it´s actually just silly. But I still like all three. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I think her first CD is still my favorite.
I've had a hard time getting into that last one, "Hidden Beach Presents...". "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Hidden Beach Presents? Aren't all of her 2000-2007 work labeled with that? You must mean The Light of the Sun. Check me out and add me on:

No.... I meant "Hidden Beach Presents..."
It came out shortly after "Light of the Sun".

Yeah couldn't really get into that one either, but it was nothing more than just a "compilation." Check me out and add me on:

I love me some Jill, so I just knew I was gettin' "a little extra" with that one.
I popped it in, and was like,
The songs sound unfinished or something... "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Her debut album is a masterpiece, all her studio albums hit the spot for me
But that vaults album should have stayed there, in the vaults [Edited 7/7/12 11:46am] Life has a way of making you live it. . . .

I could not agree with you more, Harlepolis. I can't put my finger on it, but the others just don't grab me for some reason. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

It was nothing more than a contractual obligation release. Hidden Beach wanted to cash-in on the success of The Light of the Sun, but as it turned out, it came and went. There were a couple so-so cuts, but it was okey-dokey. Check me out and add me on:

I was head over heels with her debut like everyone else and likely to say thats her best but I CANNOT listen to any songs from it anymore. I immediately hit skip when they come on.
I'm more into her Hear My Call growth material. "Climb in my fur."

I know...
But still, I thought I wold get some more Jill to jam to... Technically I did, but it didn't do it for me. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Just recently transfered Real Thing to my ipod... and I just really like this CD. I am beginning to think this one is my favorite.
I love Jill Scott. When I need some relaxation/meditation music I put on Jill Scott, the same way I used to reach for Teena.
I don't do vaults or best of CD's because I am too cheap to pay for the same song twice.
Debut would be 2nd for me. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

I think her first one is the best. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!
