Would you every really give any artist a chance? i mean mainstream or otherwise?

It seems in the long run when an artist's come's out who has alot of hype people on here are quick to jump on how unoriginal they are or how it's been done better by so & so and what & what & blah blah blah blah blah blah

I honestly don't think any of who love music from yesteryear will ever give a fair chance to anyone new coming in.. especially if they have mainstream success. One day there will be another artist who sells huge and has more number 1's then artists of the past, more week's at number 1 & all that. Records are meant to be broken and no matter who you stan or rant for one day there numbers will become irrevealant.

But that's just numbers.... what if an artist come's out who deserves that? what if we get a huge multiple talent that come's out and shocks mofos like Prince, Stevie & others did back in the day? but most of you would probably just blast them for being unoriginal compared to so & so

So i don't think orgers especially of the generation past really give a fair shot to some modern bands & even when a good one comes along like a Janelle or Kanye or Death Grips or Adele. They have to say oh there so ''boring'' there unoriginal they just steal they don't play 23,000 instruments, they don't sing like so & so they don't have the records queen janet & mariah have so there not a factor.

And I don't understand why anyone would make their personal opinions on how "boring" Janelle or Adele are and make it gospel.

I know i get it some people dislike them that's cool. But people coming out saying they have no talent and shit i'm just like........ people you are reaching

And then people will say people like kanye or even Death grips have no talent cause they sample a lot, yet they also play instruments to(Since that seems to jerkoff the music lovers like a filthy prostitute) And in Death Grips case they are actually a working band with a full set And Kanye himself there is video os him conduscting orchestras and other band members on his late Registration album. You got to know about music a decent a mount to do that correctly.

You have to understand the age bracket in this site. This is like mostly a site with 40-year-olds or 30-year-olds and 20-year-olds who only listen to music pre-1985. And a small group of folks who are in the middle who actually dug the recordings of post-1985 music but the way the topics are created, you think there was only just a handful of them.

But i ask them to think back to the 80's and where there parents giving a chance to the modern music then? hell even in the 70's, 60's etc. Peoples parents & elders where not wanting to give chance to new music coming out. I know my grandparents where interesting, they actually enjoyed some of my moms tapes.. they dug songs by Prince, MJ, Poison(Yes weird i know } Springsteen, Madonna, Whitney houston etc.

But they where from the doo-wop era and usually they would only listen to that, but they can stil get down with some 80's & even a few 90's artists. I think it's the same veery decade with the ''the older generation had better music'' Debeates.. i think flks should be more open minded and find something enjoyable in a modern artist underground or not.

The problem is the generations that came after Motown want to be taken more seriously for some reason. I mean Prince came from the post-Motown generation.

I quit listening to the radio around 1990 or 1991, because the stuff they started to play didn't appeal to me. So I took no interest in 95% of what came afterward. It's the same for movies and TV programs too. I just bought people I liked already or newer acts that sounded like the music I preferred like Jamiroquai and Sharon Jones. Since there are plenty of acts from the years I like that I haven't heard, I started to listen to them, it's "new" music to me. I don't see any importance of listening to something just because it's newly recorded or because it's a hit song. It's no different than people who only listen to classical or opera, which is mainly music that is hundreds of years old. I don't say new music is bad, and old music is better like Vainandy. I ignore it just like I ignore downloading, it's not hard to do.

to me there is issue because age-ism is rampant and never was. Thats really all i have issues withh, i can get into new artists, but they need to not play by the rules, to me i dont see much hunger anymore to create, where is someone with drive like an Elton or Stevie? i mean i hate comparisons i say let things stand for when they are, if thats the case it is fair to say a time was better than another time or more creative or challenging, i think people take issue with getting called old because they buy a new Styx album? i mean there is no reason that their new music shouldnt be on the radio (just using them as an example) just as much as Rihanna, i mean in the 80's u had a play list where Debbie Gibson and The rolling stones and Aretha Franklin could all coexist, today, that would be too radical.

People dont discard today, they just want the playing field equal, my mom thinks Katy Perry is kinda cool, but at the same she likes the new Johnny Mathis, i cant find anyone under 25 that knows who Johnny Mathis is or would listen to a song of his. So i dont think its really fair to just lump this on the older crowd, though in cases i agree with you, i also say that the new kids are closed off from too much mainly because there is no outlet for them to find the past.

I love alot of the music out there, but not everything though. If you can't sing I'm not buying your SHIT. Voice enhancement really makes my ears bleed. I don't listen to radio either. If I hear something online that I like I buys it. Janelle I don't get her, or maybe she doesn't do it foe me. and just because there are threads about certain artistS and don't reply don't mean that you don't like their stuff or If I don't like them I won't go on a thread and DiSS them. Somes music ain't foe everyone. I've always been open to all types of music from a youngin' age too.

I personally think it is fantastic

It is one of my favorite albums of the last few years, i just love everything about it. From the intro to Dark Fantasy it is like an intro to a film or play & even though rappers i don't care for are on he album.. i like them on there. They come in like a Greek chorus and fade out and i like the way that's done.

The production, the lyrics, the samples & the band playing on All Of The Lights. To me i think it is just a fantastic album.. a one of a kind that is not seen quite often. And it got a 5 star review in rolling stones & 5 mics by the source & tons of other rave reviews.

.But it seems Kanye has been going off on some bad shit lately Mercy sounds like a standard Flo Rida or Chris Brown track and he has been doing more talks about hoes & ass
