I never understood what was so great about Barbra Streisand. Myself, I think Summer is clearly the more talented, more powerful vocalist in this duet. The song?...I never found it to be the massive "hit" that it was as dictated by the American record buying public/charts; there have been WAY BETTER songs from the Disco Era than this. It DOES, however, tie in immaculately with Streisand's "Wet," water-themed album, but for Summer, I think it was more of a $ venture than any artistic endeavor. "Just look him in the eye and simply shout...enough is enough!" Can we get any cornier than THAT? eek

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

I definitly agree with this on this particular song.I was exactly kinda shock with how average she sounded and Donna outshines vividly

Donna could have done this by herself. I dont listen to alot of Barbra Streisand but the songs Ive heard I dont think her voice is all that great how media hypes it to be

Barbra is good, but it's clear that disco isn't her thing lol She was just jumping on the bandwagon. This is a good song, but I think Diana Ross would have been a better duet partner for this particular song.

I read that those two didn't get along.

Then again, did catty Babs every get along with any person who has a vagina between their legs?

I read that Donna passed out during recording when doing the long note. Is that true?

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

One interesting note about this record: Luther Vandross is all over the background vocals on this one...

They got along OK,but there was a little drama during the recording session.Barbra felt slightly uncomfortable and she wasn't sure if this style of music (disco) was her thing.During a break in the recording session, she whispered to her assistant "Why is she trying to outsing me?!" lol

The backgrounds were arranged by Luther Waters and performed by he and his sisters Julia and Maxine Waters. Contrary to folklore Luther Waters was not an alias used by Luther Vandross.

I love it, and the cover artwork's cute. razz I can even more than stomach the 11-minute+ long version. It's corny, but it just... works, for me.

Didn't the guy who wrote this song also penned 'The Main Event' the other lame disco record by Streisand? I definitely prefer this record. It would've been greater if Donna Summer and Diana Ross recorded this together.

Although old time vocalists such as Streisand isn't my thing. I can definitely say she had/has a great voice.

Not really feeing this duet. This song would be better if Donna Summer did it alone.
