The Roots, Common, Queen Latifah ..Philly 7/4. "Real " Hip Hop

Right now I'm watching a live concert here in Philly for Independence Day...

Common says were about to give you "real" hip hop.. Then him, Black Thought and Queen start doing originals AND covers with The Roots and DJ Jazzy Jeff backing them up.....

They covered Microphone Fiend, Juicy....even did a homage to Chuck Brown and did "Bustin Loose"....

As many people 35 and older know, this is the hip hop we knew and loved....

It helps when the mayor used to be a DJ back in the day....lol

Abdul	I like the Roots being of charge of the Welcome America concert here in Philly, they got ties to so many people in music they'll always get us a good show on the 4th.
