I'm not sure I like this. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

From reviews I read, Lioness wasn't immensely popular, even with fans, but I loved it, so I'm really excited for new music. I love hearing her do covers, so if that's all there is, I'm fine with that.

so what about the album she was working on up until she died? was that lioness? from what i gathered at the time of it's release, it wasn't that album. i haven't even checked it out just beyond listening to clips of it.

I'm down with covers. I'm not down with shit that sounds like a sketch of an idea, or a quick demo run-through, that has been posthumously produced and passed off as an actual song. There's a few on Lioness that really should have been left on the cutting room floor. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

I think Lioness was what she had been working on "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Nah, there are things on there that date back to 2002. IIRC, the most recent thing on there was from 2008? "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

There was a news story last year that there's a dozen songs that her record label owns, and they won't let them be released. They say Amy didn't want them released, and I'm guessing that stuff is what would've been on her next album.
A lot of tracks have leaked, though, and are all over YouTube. Some of them are really good, so I definitely think the next album could be great.

I thought they said they weren't gonna do the Tupac thing with Amy. Oh well

First, just wanna say I'm delighted to get ANY posthumous stuff from Amy.
Naw, Lioness was a project slapped together at the last minute by Salaam Remi with some participation from Mark Ronson.
The liner notes for Lioness show a handwritten track list of song titles intended to be the third LP. Included on the list are "Between the Cheats" and "Like Smoke" which were both released on Lioness in as-official-as-it-can-get form.
I'm assuming what he means these 2 albums will be will be a lot of the older material. Amy recorded a fuckload of music the years after she was signed, including many many covers. This is where songs like "Our Day Will Come" and "Moody's Mood For Love" and "Teach Me Tonight" (studio) tracks come from. I also assume that Amy recorded a decent amount during her time in the Caribbean. I know that the third album had several completed sessions done, but I don't think the material was considered final cut.

I'm so glad they reworked 'Tears dry on their own' - The demo version was forgettable.
