My Beautiful, Dark, Twisted Music Producer Fantasies!

Color my inner life fanciful, but over the years I've fantasized about what I would try to do if I were a powerful music producer that could make things happen. Sometimes the things I've come up with sounds like I've driven over the cliff of sanity but to me they sound like the most logical things in the world:

1) I've mentioned this one before but it was a while ago. Back in the heydey of Prince/Michael Jackson it was ALWAYS my dream to have these two collaborate in a big way. My idea was for them to do an entire album together, each one writing 5 or 6 songs each, to be performed by the other and produced by the other. That egos alone stopped these two from doing any kind of collab is sad to me. Michael is gone now proving life is too short and the world is left without what would've been something special and for what?

2) I had a grand idea for Britney Spears's grown up coming out from her teeny bopper beginnings. My idea was for her to record and release as her first single a pop remake of Tori Amos's "Crucify". You KNOW this is a good idea:

3) When Chris Brown was hankering for a comeback from his PR disaster known as Rihanna I had an idea for him to do an almost a capella piano laden R&B-ish version of John Lennon's "Jealous Guy":

So what if my music producing career might have been short lived, I BELIEVE in these projects! LOL

I like the idea of splitting songwriting duties but sharing the album. Sorta like when Madlib and J Dilla made Jaylib, one dude rhyming over the other's beats, and that is a very special project.

Michael did try to get Prince on "Bad" though.

I like the idea of giving Britney more mature material, and Chris Brown doing something outside of dancy R&B

I think it just shows that any impossibility of a collab was totally Prince's fault.

Yep.

Lyrically these projects work too.

The opening line of "Crucify" spoke directly to Britney at that time (Every finger in the room is pointing at me).

"Jealous Guy" to me would've done a lot more for Chris that ANY interview ever did.
