I was about to say. He has a knack of storytelling like no other rapper before or since.

I remember the first time I heard songs like, "Davey Crockett" or "A Children's story". Aside from wondering who was it that did all the parts, I got so invovled in the story....

I'm going to sound like everyone else... but he is a fantatsic storyteller. And he come's across as just a chill guy. Not intimating or angry just a poet most of the time.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

Of course not, but that doesn't take away his status in rap kingdom

Why would you ask a question like that when you made this thread to show Rick love anyway?...

Rakim and Rick are too different rappers. One's a lyricist while the other is a storyteller. Can't imagine Rick, "Paid In Full" nor can I see Rakim, spittin' the lines to, "Mona Lisa".

I am gonna get flak for this, but what is the difference between a lyricist and a storyteller?
