Christina Aguilera to Release New Single in August
July 3, 2012
Last year, Christina Aguilera scored her biggest hit in years by teaming up with Maroon 5 for "Moves Like Jagger." Now, she's getting ready to capitalize on the success of NBC's The Voice by releasing something of her own.
Billboard states the Grammy-winning diva is expected to release a new single in early August. It's described as a "club banger" produced by master hitmaker Max Martin, and contains the line, "All I want to do is what you wanted."
The single will be the first release from Christina's upcoming album, her first since 2010's Bionic.

Brilliant move. This is exactly what Britney needs to do with X-Factor too. Don't let the opportunity go to waste.

Damn this girl needs an image consultant bad!
No-brainer on the capitalizing off of the The Voice success though. Max Martin is equally a no-brainer move considering his string of catchy pop hits. However, because of his market saturation, she'll run the risk of sounding like everyone else on the radio. She's desperate at this stage in her musical career.

I'll take this with a grain of salt, given that she was supposed to release a new single in January (the unfortunately titled "Fuck Your Body" - perhaps they thought better of it).
