This arrangement (Doc Severinsen?) is a bit different than Johnny's studio version, but I still like it.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

The first song to come to mind:

"After The Dance" by Marvin Gaye. It's the song that turned me on to Marvin and got the research of him started! All because I noticed he was singing both lead and background vocals! This is probably a normal practice, but I had't noticed.

He did it so beautifully. He's my all time favorite and it all started with that song.
