1910 Fruitgum Co. ~ 1, 2, 3, Redlight You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton | |

This was my favorite song by them but then again, I was only 9 or 10 when this came out.
According to the comments on the video, tihs was really just a karaoke version of the Ohio Express's recording of the song but I don't know.
The Ohio Express. Interestingly enough, the three songs that came up for them were "Yummy Yummy", "Chewy Chewy" and "Gimme Gimme". LOL, I see a pattern.

A lot of these songs had to do with producers/writers Jerry Kasenetz and Jeff Katz. They produced other acts (rumored to be studio musicians, and not real bands), but 1910 Fruitgum Company was the only one who had any popularity. Here's a good book about that era.

Here a couple more Kasenetz/Katz related hits. Some songs weren't actually produced by them (like Gimme Gimme Good Lovin') but other guys under their Super K Productions.
