It actually was a hit too

And D'Angelo wrote the song I think. This is what led to his big break actually. I enjoyed the film too. Probably Jada's best role. [Edited 6/30/12 17:18pm]

And everyone was ON POINT with their vocals... even Usher at the end when he got a few notes in.

Great vocals, good message, what more could you ask for?

Man, we need more songs like this. But I can't really see a Black Men United with the likes of Chris Brown, Drake, Big Sean, and Kanye West.

And it would just sound corny man. Can't even stay united anyway because they all on some fuckshit.

That scene when Forest Whitaker got shot by the Allen Payne's kid character... still chilling... because it kinda triggered what happened later because he didn't want anyone coming between him and his family. Funny thing was his brother (Bokeem's character) turned into his drunk father. And Allen's character (Jason) tried to save him. Still shaking my head he shot Jada in the arm though. But it didn't end in full tragedy though it was still sad. [Edited 6/30/12 17:33pm]

Sad, but still a good movie worthy of a watch

They need to remake this using Omarian, Lloyd, Trey Songz, Chris Brown, Drake, and Justin Bieber. So I can piss myself laughing preceeding my death.

Where the heck were you in '94?
Seriously though, you're probably too young to remember it. [Edited 7/1/12 0:15am] "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Polynesian version You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

What's funny about that? You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Excuse me for my lack of knowledge regarding Polynesia, but out of all the different versions to be made, a Polynesian one seems a bit random.
