What Madonna should do next (last stan thread from me on M...for a long while)

1. FINISH TOUR. TAKE OUT "I DON'T GIVE A" "MASTERPIECE" "IM A SINNER" AND REPLACE WITH "DONT TELL ME" "RAIN" AND "DEEPER AND DEEPER" OR "BEAUTIFUL STRANGER" FOR THE US AND THEN USE "MUSIC" "RAY OF LIGHT" AND "INTO THE GROOVE" FOR THE AUSSIES INSTEAD.

2. BEING THAT SHE'S TIED TO A 3 ALBUM DEAL TO WHICH SHE STILL OWES ANOTHER 2 WITH INTERSCOPE / LN, SHE WILL NEED TO INEVITABLY RELASE A SHITTY LIVE ALBUM OF THE MDNA TOUR WITH ONLY SONGS FROM MDNA AS THOSE ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT INTERSCOPE OWN. SHE SHOULD ADD 2 NEW BONUS TRACKS TO KEEP SOME NEW MUSIC IN THE MIX.

3. GO BACK ON TOUR IN 2015 AND SING YOUR TWENTY BIGGEST HITS, BILLED AS THE FINAL MDNA TOUR. "MUSIC" "RAY OF LIGHT" "LIKE A VIRGIN" "MATERIAL GIRL" "LIKE A PRAYER" VOGUE" "HOLIDAY" "LIVE TO TELL" "BORDERLINE" "HUNG UP" "4 MINUTES" "TAKE A BOW" "FROZEN" "PAPA DONT PREACH" "OPEN YOUR HEART" "EXPRESS YOURSELF" "CRAZY FOR YOU" "WHOS THAT GIRL" MUST ALL BE INCLUDED.

4. YOUR THIRD RELEASE SHOULD BE A BRAND NEW ALBUM BILLED AS MADONNA'S FINAL STUDIO POP ALBUM TIED TO A MAJOR LABEL (INTERSCOPE)

5. HOPEFULLY DO ADVENTUROUS MUSICAL SYTLES (JAZZ, NEW AGE, STANDARDS, FOLK, LATIN, WHATEVER) ON your own label.

***Her next album should be an album of ballads.I really like "Masterpiece" and "Falling Free" on MDNA and I think she should go this route, for at least one album.Lately, there has been too much dance music from her and I think it's time for a break. How about a 'serious' album filled with strong lyrics, heartfelt emotions and a subdued production? People want substance. "Falling Free" proves that she can (still) deliver an amazing ballad.More, please! No tour with this album. The whole "album-then-tour" routine is getting played out.Instead, she should promote this album aggressively (TV appearances, videos, etc) without the pressures of planning for a world tour.

***The album after that should be a movie soundtrack.I'd like her music to be part of a movie project, like in the old days ( I'm Breathless and Evita).Instead of referencing herself, she can sing songs that are about other characters and situations. Her recent albums have alot of personal songs, which is fine, but how about stepping outside of her own world and doing songs for a major motion picture? She was offered a few million to write and record the theme song for 'A Beautiful Mind' but she turned it down.Huge mistake that she can now fix.

***A greatest hits tour----yeah,I know she's not crazy about something like this, and she likes every tour to be based on a new album, but damn.....just for once,I'd like to hear stuff like "Dress You Up","Causing A Commotion","Angel" and other songs that she neglects on her recent tours.A greatest hits tour will practically force her to sing those songs lol Madonna is a veteran artist now and there's nothing wrong with that. She should embrace that. The Rolling Stones don't always put out new albums for their tours and Madonna shouldn't have to,either.

Just No! Madonna is required to do several more tours as well as albums under her contract with Live Nation so she can't do just one more final tour. I get people want to hear hits, but I don't think Madonna is at her best doing that. She puts more passion into her tours when they are more threatrical and more artistic and not just the hits.

The current tour is put together as a theatre piece and so she's not going to change the setlist. Every song is there for a reason and she rehearsed for months so it' s not going to be changed on the spur of the moment. Accept the tour as it is.

And I don't think a jazz, standards, Latin or other kind of weird music would work with Madonna's voice at all. She is at her heart a pop artist. I can see her doing records that have more of an R&B or rock based pop sound, rather than dance/electronic, but not those non mainstream kinds of music. It's just not her.

Why does everyone want Madonna to be something she isn't? She is who she is and works how she works. Accept who she is or move on to another artist.

I like her ballads but a whole album of just ballads would be dull to me. A good album for me needs to have a change of tempo. Why can't you write songs of substance that are mid or up tempo? She doesn't have to do dance music but everything doesn't have to be slow and boring either. Look at her most acclaimed albums, Like A Prayer and Ray of Light. Yes, they have some ballads but they also have up and mid tempo stuff too.

Madonna is an amazing live performer. I don't see why she should give up what she does best.

You say the pressures of a world tour, but I think she actually enjoys that more than all the publicity appearances and videos.

Exactly! And I lot of the suggestions here seem pretty predictable and conventional like ballads albums and greatest hits tours. I like that you never know what she's going to do next and she doesn't always do the expected thing for an older artist.

Wasn't Cher starting to advertise every tour as a fair well tour at around Madonna's age now? lol

Yep. nod Now she's announcing that she and others are going to make a musical of her life for Broadway. In the meantime, she keeps doing "farewell" tours. lol

What struck me the most about Cher, during an interview she did with Oprah when Cher and Tina Turner were performing together, was how much Cher hates growing old. Tina, on the other hand, said that she loved her age and that she embraced whatever age she was and that her life couldn't be better. The difference between the two struck me between the eyes--especially because Tina is older than Cher. I want to age like Tina! Hopefully, that will be Madonna's philosophy...

I just think that,in recent years, she has been neglecting ballads. When I first heard "Falling Free",it was such a refreshing change of pace.Don't get me wrong,I love the uptempo dance stuff but it would be nice to get more stuff like "Falling Free".It's a style that she doesn't venture into very often. We already know that she's an amazing dance music artist. The world knows that.Let's show the world a different side of her talent.

Madonna should do an entire album in the vein of "Falling Free." That song showcases her best qualities, vocally and thematically, in a long time IMO. An album along the same lines--with both ballads and dance tunes.

But all of her dance albums have slower introspective stuff too! Confessions has Isaac and Like it or Not. Hard Candy has Miles Away, Voices and Devil Wouldn't Recognize You. I like it when she goes outside just dance/club music but not necessarily the stereotypical AC "ballad" style. I do like Falling Free a lot but because it's not a run of the mill ballad. I do like her ballads and maybe she has concentrated too much on the uptempo stuff, but I don't think she should go 100% the other direction and do an album of nothing but ballads.

Yup. If you note my response above--I think Falling Free is a move in the right direction but I also don't think she should do an entire ballad album--it should be a clever interweaving mixture as she did in Confessions, but following on the heels of Falling Free IMO...
