Oh and I guess "How Does It Feel" was influenced by Marvin or Teddy then... nah, critics didn't hear that screeching guitar and the falsetto hollers... nah they didn't. falloff Yeah I guess "a subtle tribute to Prince" was something I read in my imagination. lol

I'll tune in for D'angelo playing with Jesse and Eric and for Maze's Lifetime Achivement Award. This televised performance at the BET Awards will be significant because so much of contemporary r&b has been about portraying ostentatious lifestyles, monotonous beats and half-assed melodies, D'Angelo is young enough to impress upon BET's young demographic that musicianship is something that is inside of you; on stage and in the studio.

Also, since Prince didn't perform in 2010, hopefully, D and Jesse will really shred and turn it out.

You can make the argument that people been paying more than a $100 to see a Sly Stone clone, because Prince plays so many Sly Stone covers at aftershows, main shows and even has recorded songs in tribute to Sly. Not to mention, his friendship with Larry Graham.

All I'm saying, that D'Angelo is expressed his admiration for Prince's music and the many things he has accomplished in his career to pave the way for D'Angelo. So if D hires Jesse and Eric to play with him, that doesn't mean he's trying to be a Prince clone.
