New music from the Red Hot Chili Peppers is headed our way. The band has announced that they plan to release a number of new songs on 7” vinyl throughout the rest of the year. Bassist Flea commenting, "We have been writing stuff while touring. We are also going to put out 18 new songs over the next 6 months on 7 inch."

Drummer Chad Smith added that some of the new songs will be B-sides from their latest album, I’m with You, stating, "Over the next 6 months at least 10 more IWU b-sides I promise!"

In addition to being released on vinyl, Smith noted that the new tracks also will be available at all the usual digital outlets.

At one of the local record stores, a new release 45 single is $6-$10. It's cheaper to buy a maxi single.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

As noted in the article, you can choose to download the new songs instead of purchasing vinyl.
